$77 mill is a drop in the bucket...cut their losses. Aggies ROI sucked on that Investment

While the fact that Fisher’s contract is 100% guaranteed is far from A&M-friendly, the way the buyout works would allow the Aggies more flexibility than at first glance. Only 20% of the buyout is due within 60 days of termination, with the remaining balance paid out annually through 2031. That means that if he was fired after this season, A&M would only owe Fisher $19.2 million immediately. They would then pay him $7.2 million annually for the next eight seasons.

Paying out $7.2million a year to have a guy not coach is not "flexibility".

The highest paid coach in CFB is Saban at $11.4million.

The market for CFB coaches at an SEC program is $7-10million.

A&M is looking at paying out $15M/year, minimum, to head coaches for the next 7 years.

Hell, I would be. There wouldn’t even be a blow to self respect or anything. I would congratulate myself for signing a contract with that kind of buyout, move somewhere really nice and go fishing every day. Screw football and answering anything to anyone.

This is directly related to the university of Texas, heading to the SEC and Texas being perceived on the upswing.

They are scared shite-less that UT will waltz into Kyle next year and drop a beat down on them after 10+ years

Now Dumbo can pursue his real talent, chasing young coeds 24/7.

Texags thought their admin could keep Jimbo for 24 so they could have a higher chance to beat Tejas, but I guess they were wrong

Have you been living under a rock? He got an extension before we hired BK because A&M thought we were trying to steal him away

Crap. This can only be bad news for LSU. Jimbo was locked in for another few years of mediocrity. I don't want Lane or some other coach with energy and ability in College Station with all that money. Then again, they always seem to frick it up. Maybe they'll hire Deion.

Naw this is good news since Jimbo has been beating us lately

Does Jimbo get to keep that faux national championship trophy or will the Aggies keep it so they can display it to recruits and donors?

Coachless teams always seem to pull off an upset right after their coach gets fired. They have the talent to be a very dangerous team when we play.
