On Friday, Judge Aileen Cannon agreed to temporarily delay the trial brought forth by Biden’s Department of Justice against Donald Trump regarding alleged classified documents taken with Trump after the end of his presidency.

DOJ's Jay Bratt reportedly insisted during the hearing that Cannon should not delay the trial and that she should "should not let the DC trial drive the schedule here."
Trump attorney Todd Blanche argued that prosecutors need to be realistic about the case, as the classified documents can only be viewed in designated government rooms with heightened security.
"It has been extremely difficult to have access," he said.
Cannon at one point asked the DOJ to provide an example of a time it brought forth two criminal cases in a "compressed" schedule while calling for trial dates within less than 3 months; Cannon did not receive an answer.

Oh wait, so they don't got him this time? Surely they'll get him next time though.

This is the only case that has a slim chance and now it's pushed past the election.

This is actually the only case with even a shred of legitimacy, legally. The only one he should have any worry about.
That is not to say it IS legitimate, just to say the other cases seem to really stink much worse.

Makes sense, as the Dems definitely shot their load so many of these. Dem/rino tears are gonna flow on this one. According to Ben Shapiro this seems to be the one that "gots him this time."
So no indication of how long it will be postponed or if there are rules around how far it can be, like up to 6 months increments at a time?

I would so love for that to happen

Could his DOJ not just drop the whole case? But then we could have his nominee pull a sessions and promise not to and will special council it into eternity.

Would have them really screaming if he is reelected and issues a pardon.

At last, a judge with some fairness. Anyone who can't recognize the communistic efforts of Biden trying to remove his chief political opponent needs to see a doctor to have their head removed from their arse.
It's sad and funny at the same time. Everyone with TDS thinking any of these attempts to "get Trump" would be different than the others is the funny part. The sad part is that it happened at all.

He would just pardon himself and shut the case down.

It would be essentially deferred until he was no longer president, but picking it up again would be at a future atty general's discretion.

So this is the source of that sound of reeeeeeing I heard?

I think the answer is no, and Trump wins, he can always just fire the special prosecutor and/or pardon himself.
The only hope the Dems have is to get him convicted before he is becomes the President again.

This is an example of why Jack fired up his second case in DC. Trump ain't getting that kind of cooperation in DC and Jack gets everything he wants in DC.

Yes. It's not legitimate because no other former President, or hell VP, has ever been charged based on this but it is the only one with a shred of legitimacy because taking home classified documents is, on it's face, illegal.

Not for the one person who has the ability to declass and thats The President.

It’s not as if discovery stops or it’s stayed. If I’m Trump’s lawyers I’m conducting all my discovery there - bc you’ll get rulings that are sane
