We still have an open roster spot and so long as you don't give Ryan much more than the minimum, then dumping Kira into a TPE still gets us under the tax.

I just went down a rather interesting rabbit hole looking at the possibility of a Ryan contract.

Matt Ryan's agent is Eric Fleisher who in the 90s discovered Kevin Garnett playing in high school and negotiated his unique direct to draft deal to the TWolves. Then during 2nd contract, Eric told Garnett to hold out which resulted in the largest contract in NBA history. So big - many say it is what caused the 98 lockout. Eric Fleisher was certainly one of the top agents in BB at the time.

Same year a rising young intern at Fleisher's agency named Andy Miller was secretly working on starting his own agency and making backdoor deals to steal Fleisher's clients. One day some of the agency's biggest names - Garnett, Billups, Al Harrington, etc. all jumped to Miller's new agency. Fleisher sued and won a huge settlement.

Currently Fleisher appears to work exclusively with unsigned, D league, and overseas talent. Matt Ryan may be his biggest client actually.

Andy Miller, the player poacher, is the VP (and some say the secret mastermind) at Klutch.
