do you think teams keep the same signals the whole year when there's non illegal ways (like Michigan) to access them already?

Teams now have 500 "analysts" that assist in every facet of the game. If you think this is uncommon, then you may as well believe players weren't getting paid prior to NIL.
...and you think that's all they did.
Bless your heart.

"The SEC has bigger dirtbags" isn't a winning argument.
And yes, a big part of this is because of who they are and how they acted with Tressel and Meyer.
They should be hammered.

That shite is beyond hilarious to me. I'm sorry if that triggers anyone.
Like another poster said, if this was the SEC, another team would try like hell to get that same crew on their staff. We are used to watching several schools cheating in every facet of the sport.

Never said it was. All of it since the dawn of the sport has been pretty shameful. Again, SEC schools have learned from the best and have done all we can to keep up. There's a reason why the two schools put on probation the most are Bama and Auburn.

Agreed. The tattoo shite was stupid. Yes, there is a double standard. Again, we are used to double standards. Hell, we are in a conference where you can beat the biggest cheater in history and then be told your win meant nothing. What do you do then?
You guys are still beating Michigan despite all of this. Consider yourselves lucky.

Yeah, I’m sure Michigan totally doesn’t have the signs for their remaining opponents.
If you are a future opponent of Michigan and you don't change your signals the week before your game vs Michigan your head coach should be fired.

How is this relevant? Cheating is cheating.
If I get caught cheating on a test, the idea that I would’ve made a good grade anyway is not a defense.
These games often have razor-thin margins.

My stance has always been, for OSU and everyone else, if you're cheating and get caught, you pay the piper so to say
The sign stealing already done in 2023 should impact the 2023 team. I agree with some people who are saying teams have time to change their signs for the rest of the year. I don't know how long it takes of course to change your entire sheet, but everyone has known about this for 2 weeks now. A lot of changes can be made.
I don't know the right overall punishment, because there has been so many crazy one offs. Did they hack into OSU's cloud server and steal practice film? Was this dude at a CMU game or whatever wearing their clothes? Did Michigan in any way fund these 30 trips and tickets? What coaches if any knew what was going on? Why is a recruiting intern standing next to the head coach/coordinators and helping them call plays?
If Michigan funded these trips/tickets or if there is evidence they stole tape off a server from another team, that's serious to me. If they can't follow the bread crumbs and get them for 1 of those 2 things, it seems kind of meh

Early on, I was in agreement with you. But as more and more allegations come out, I’m leaning towards this being more serious than I originally thought.
Especially if the claims that Stalions went on the sidelines of other teams in disguise, or that Michigan shared their sign-stealing info with other teams to affect the playoff landscape are proven.

I’m sure teams will do things different. But this is still a pain in the arse for the teams Michigan plays sooner.
Again, if changing your signals is as easy and as quick of a turnaround as some posters are implying, why in the world did Sparty choose to run their playcalls in 2 weeks ago? And why wasn’t Ohio State able to change everything last year?

The same team that doesn't have a head coach that it started the season with.

So only Mel Tucker had the brain power on that entire staff to implement new signals within a week?

Teams that play Michigan the next few weeks have no shot at completely overhauling it. There’s a reason why MSU ran in their playcalls last week
MSU ran in their play calls and got beat by 5 TDs...
It's not that difficult to change signs especially since in a 3 sign sequence one is the formation which you won't have to change anyways

Point is, a team with coaching chaos figured out how to get around it, and still lost by 5TDs.
Ryan Day is supposed to be one of the top coaches in the game. He should have no issues changing things up.
As an LSU fan, I have no doubt our DC, Matt House, would be unable to adjust to something like this easily. He's an idiot.
Posted on 11/2/23 at 10:26 am to EZE Tiger Fan
FWIW, I’m not arguing what Sparty did or didn’t do would have an impact on the final outcome. They are terrible. They would have gotten their arse kicked regardless.
My point is overhauling a signaling system isn’t as easy and quick as folks are implying. Could a team do it within a game week? I’m sure. Would it not impact other game planning activities? It absolutely would. There is a reason why Ohio State wasn’t able to scrap everything during their game last year.
If these changes are as easy and quick as folks are implying, teams would be adjusting their signals every single week.

What does that matter? MSU is absolute dogshit. You me and PJ could probably go out there and beat them.
Just because teams can figure out a way around it doesnt mean Michigan didnt get caught breaking the rules.
shite, LSU players signed a few autographs days before NIL became a thing and they still got in trouble.
Everybody who gets caught doing shite that shouldnt be against the rules still has to pay the consequences. This time its Michigan.
