Very poor!! no spacing, no rim protector, no end of the bench depth guys, and poor drafting in the 1st Rd besides Murphy. I’m over the Griffin Experience.

That’s a little too pessimistic.
I’d like to see how they evolve during the season. Improved shooting can create space, and rebounding should get better.
It’s very early.

Not if our only other two bigs besides Jonas are Nance and Zion.

I remember the days when 95% of this board was convinced that Zion would be an elite nba level rim protector.
Fun times.

Yes it’s early in the season but we are clearly seeing the deficiencies that we knew were there all along. If BI or Zion is out we are fricked, CJ is a shell of himself and Val doesn’t fit, and We have to admit Dyson and Kira won’t be meaningful players for us.

Anyone who thought this would be the case for someone who is 6'6 doesn't watch the NBA and only watched Duke Zion youtube clips.
He was never that and was never going to be that... and that's ok.
I did think he would translate to a better rebounder than he has thus far. Frankly he should be better, but like everything else with Zion, it comes down to effort and health, which we haven't gotten 100% of either since we drafted him.

Remind me why we couldn't make a move into the late second round this year when Trace Jackson Davis was unbelievably still on the board? Versatile big who actually rebounds, blocks shots and knows how to play team basketball. Congrats Warriors on another solid pick who fits your style...

Kind of dumb to make this thread when we’re missing *checks notes*
Jose
Trey
BI
Naji
Let’s get 30 fricking games of everyone healthy and maybe finish a season with a somewhat healthy roster before we start talking about roster construction. Hawkins has to work on his D but he can shoot and he stays active. He’s gonna be a solid player. It’s fricking 3 games in guys…

- to be fair bro when has this ever happened? I would give anything for at least 30 games with EVERYONE healthy. And now with BI mystery knee soreness we wont know for a while.

When he was drafted, I thought he was closer to 6'7. Plus he was 19 and they stated that he could still grow some more. I was thinking he could possibly hit 6'8, along with thinning out his frame as he defined his physique. He could certainly play C at that size almost full-time. He's basically the same size as Nance, who plays Center a bunch..

Damnit.
Is it time for the "Tear it all down and rebuild" Pelicans Version already?
I haven't even digested the Saints version yet.

Very poor!! no spacing

no end of the bench depth guys

And if we win our next game, everyone will do just like the 1st 2 games, where we're soooo good and how far can we go. Then if we lose the next game, the sky will be falling. It's weird to have fandom like that.

Its actually pretty normal for fans for all sports teams. The term “fan” is short for fanatic. I don’t understand why it’s shocking for some fans to see extreme reactions either way. Go to mavericks blogs they think they’re winning the finals and grizzlies blogs are thinking their whole season is done. Its just how fans of sports teams are.

quote:We could use a better big. Cannot believe our "big" signing was the uncoordinated Zeller. I really am not a huge fan of Nance as the main backup big as his weaknesses showed a lot last night.
