Texas coach Steve Sarkisian took an opportunity with the first College Football Playoff rankings on the horizon to make a case for his Longhorns on Monday.

"I've shied away from this," Sarkisian said when asked about his thoughts on the rankings being unveiled Tuesday night. "I'd argue we have the best win in the country right now. The fact that we go into Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and beat a team that was 52-1 in the previous 53 games of us going in there...

"I hear so much about how tough the SEC is, but I haven't seen any of those teams go in Alabama and win, either, so I feel pretty good about our team."

Texas is No. 7 in the AP poll and 7-1 on the season with a 34-30 loss to No. 10 Oklahoma as its only blemish.

Getting bailed out by refs against Houston is definitely a sign it's time to start lobbying

He should say that OU has the best win in the country if his team is that good.

Debatable that you have the best win plus you have a loss.

i think it's pretty fair to say that winning at bama is a better win than home vs. oregon.

oregon might be slightly better than bama, but on the road is just so fricking tough that it makes it the better win for me.

I mean, why not opine for your team? None of this matters. It’s going to be 3 in a row. Everyone knows it.

I hope Kansas state beats em and puts a nail in the big 12s coffin because Oklahoma sure as hell isn’t winning out.

Someone asked him about the CFP rankings and he answered honestly instead of being all mealy mouthed.

Oregon has the best loss I suppose...losing at Washington by 3, while leaving 6 points off the board by coaching brain farts...and not taking chip shot FGs before half.
