I’m not going to flame, but it’s pretty clear there is no longer Greek nor Jew and Israel is Christ’s church. God’s covenant with Israel has been fulfilled by Christ, and ethnic Hebrew is no longer of any moment.

That said, f Hamas. And I support Israel as a nation. Just don’t take my hard-earned money to do it. I’d rather give it to Christ’s True Church.

God never promised Abraham eternal life. Christ made that promise to his followers.

If anything, today's secular Israel is further from God than ever. And to say that we must support this Israel right or wrong is an abomination.

Need some clarification. John says the Logos was with God in the beginning and became flesh and walked among us. Do you reject Mark who says Jesus became the son of God when he was baptized by John the Baptizer “this day I have begotten you”? Do you reject Matthew where Jesus came to earth as a fetus and was born in a house Joseph owned? Do you reject Luke who claimed Jesus came to earth as a fetus but was born in a barn in a feed trough because Joseph didn’t own a house in Bethlehem and the inns were full? Just curious why you choose John’s take on how Jesus came to earth.

I don’t reject any of that, Jesus was before all of that. He was there from the beginning.

Abraham believed in God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.

You just have to put the pieces together.
(goodness the typos really screw things up)

ETA: literally (or leave them apart and let God walk through them for you).

Some believe God made the Convenient to the Jews. We, as in the USA, made the covenant to Him, so we are the ones that need to remember to hold up our end. Which, if it's the case, we arent doing.

You claim Jesus was the son of god who came down a walking talking man, as in the gospel of John. That’s fine.

I’m just saying that in the oldest copies of manuscripts of Mark and Luke we have, Jesus becomes the son of God at Jesus’ baptism. Instead of “today I am well pleased” the manuscripts say “today I have begotten you”.

The author of Mark was copying from Psalm 2:7 which reads
quote:

I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you.

Later scribes changed Mark to:
quote:

And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

And scribes changed Luke to
quote:

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.

But Justin Martyr quoted this verse in Luke as
quote:

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; today I have begotten you

And Hebrews 5:5 retains the original reading:
quote:

So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “”

And in Acts 13 (written by Luke) the original is retained still:
quote:

32And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, 33this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm, “‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’

So Mark and Luke wrote that Jesus became the son of God at his baptism. Later on, some scribes added the nativity chapters 1 and 2 to Luke and modified Mark and Luke to hide that they originally had Jesus becoming God’s son at his baptism, not being a pre-existent son as in John.

How do you then choose which one is right and what to believe, since the gospels are alleging different methods by which Jesus became God’s son?

This day and age? They have repeatedly turned their backs on God, doing so during biblical times as well.

Doesn’t matter.

They are His favored and chosen.

I think ole YHWH “the LORD” was embellishing a bit. We find out the reality of his relationship with Israel in Deuteronomy 32:8-9

quote:

8When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the bordersa of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.b 9But the LORD’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.

When YHWH’s father El Elyon (the highest God and king of the gods) divided up the nations, he assigned one of his sons to be the god over each group. Philistines got Dagon, Moabites got Chemosh, other Canaanites got Ba’al, Babylonians got Marduk, etc. For Israel, El Elyon allotted them to YHWH.

YHWH was proud of being ruler of the Israelites. He lied to them and murdered them (and allowed them to be murdered by other nations and taken as slaves) when the worshipped other gods. He was a jealous god and wasn’t going to allow anyone to worship his brothers.

quote:

You shall have no other gods before me. 4“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God

The LORD himself is telling you not to worship those others gods, nor bow down to them, nor serve them. Kind of hard to worship something that doesn’t exist… your Bible is clearing stating all those other gods do exist (but don’t worship them).

He even dispersed them for 2000 years and then brought them back from all corners of the earth, as was prophesied, in 1948. I never said they were “holding up their end of the covenant” . I pray that Jesus gives you a spiritual understanding of scripture.

Help me understand this more clearly.
How was 1948 the fulfillment of the prophesy.
This is where it appears to be a Zionist occupation and not fulfillment of prophesy.

What were the terms that God laid out for their return? And how was that filled?

I’m being genuine in my curiosity because I’ve had this conversation a number of times and I leave with no further understanding relative to how they met God’s terms for their return.

“I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.” (Ezekiel 34:13)

Then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where He scattered you.” (Deuteronomy 30:3)

I don’t “claim” Jesus to be the Sone of God, He IS the Son of God! The Great I AM!

He was there from the start as well as the Holy Spirit. If you have a problem with that, you need to take it up with Yahweh.
