Georgia might be out of the top four when rankings come out next.

Assuming no upsets... Ohio State, Oklahoma, fsu, Michigan will be the top four ... Rankings committee representative saying Georgia could come in at 5th in the cfp Tuesday. Weak sos etc. If this is the case, just their loss to us should be enough to keep them out of the top four. And probably don't want them to take another L from Florida etc

CFP loves to make storylines with their first few polls because they know otherwise they don’t matter

If UGA wins out they are in. Ohio State and Michigan have to play each other. Putting them at 5 is a tacit acknowledgement of their SoS and serves as clickbait fodder, but ultimately changes nothing

Saw predictions that had them ranked 5th and 6th in the past week of rankings that come out next week. The committees going to punish them for their SOS so far this year.

The playoff committee isn’t the AP and Coaches poll that takes prior year results into account. A 2-loss lsu would be ranked over a 1-loss UGA if LSU beat them H2H in the only poll that matters

ESPN playoff predictor agrees. 1-loss non-SEC champ UGA 23% chance to make playoffs. 2-loss SEC champ LSU 54% chance to make playoffs.

They haven’t lost to us YET, but I get your thoughts.

Remember in 2019 when LSU fans freaked the hell out every single week because it was such a travesty that LSU wasn't ranked #1. People with a brain tried to calm them down and let them know that if we continued winning then we would finish #1.

Same thing here. The rankings this early don't really mean much at all. It will all play itself out, just like it always does.

A 2 loss LSU isn't replacing a 1 loss, two time defending champion UGA in the CFP. Our only hope would be from them to have a loss going into the game, which of course would them make our win over them less significant. It is going to take a 2007-on-crack type finish for us to make it.

Kinda weird to hold UGA out for SoS but have Michigan in the top 4. At least with UGA you have the fact they are 2X defending champs. Mich has done nothing when playing top teams. Without looking, their SoS has to be worse than UGAs.

They should be, their schedule rank is #94. There are 5 other undefeated teams that have played tougher schedules. Georgia ain't played anybody.

Yep and then they'll probably move right back up after they beat three ranked teams in Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Missouri and as Michigan/OSU devour themselves

Michigan has played absolutely NO ONE. There would be way more teams undefeated with Michigan's schedule, than with UGA's. I don't like Oklahoma top 4 either, but the only other legit options are Washington and Oregon

I don’t think that will happen. There’s really no reason to have Michigan in the top 4 and not Georgia

There is no way that a two time defending national champion that hasn't lost a game in 3 years doesn't stay in the top 4 if they lose their conference championship in a close game to an LSU team led by a Heisman contender. We need them to lose a regular season game or we won't jump them.

Current SOS:
Florida State 28
Ohio St 29
Oklahoma 35
Washington 47
Michigan 73
Georgia 94

For reference, LSU is currently 12, but will go up significantly after the Bama game.

Fsu almost lost to dog shite bc. Oklahoma almost lost to dog shite ucf. And like the above poster mentions, Michigan has the shittiest schedule to date.
