“If Army had just been more effective, then he wouldn’t have even been close!”

What’s crazy is he could have had 2 more picks in that game.

That first pick was a gift! QB sailed a pass to an open receiver right into Sam’s chest.
He had a great opportunity to make another interception on a more difficult play and he missed the ball.

Considering a topic after his first pick was “if it wasn’t overthrown it’s a big play.”

Yes, I will take every opportunity to throw the rant’s stupid overreactionary takes back in its face.

Edit - see the post right above mine.

Smith put the offense behind the sticks and there was pressure up the middle on the throw and Sam had the concentration to make the play.

From where this defense started, we shouldn’t be nit picking success.

He still got 2 picks. If he can manage that against Bama, he should get a prize.

Thats what happens when you try to throw directly over a 6'6" defensive lineman. QB needed to throw it through a window but he saw the receiver open and tried to put it over Smith and that resulted in the over throw which led to the pick. Its the defenses job to take advantage of mistakes. The mistake being trying to throw over Smith on a slant instead of throwing it through the window between the DLinemen.

That’s how they get attention on this message board. And people fall for it.

Let’s take it easy on him guys. Profile says he voluntarily lives in SF so the poor guy clearly has some form of mental disability.

Sam played a great game and he seems to be getting better each week

But….his first pick was a gift and would have been a big play had it not been a terrible throw

It was a good defensive play by 3 of our players. Smith gets his hands up realizing its a quick throw. Penn is in a window to make the throw harder and Sam makes a play on the ball. Even if the qb miraculously got the ball by Smith and Penn, Sam was in position to make a tackle so I dont know where the big play talk comes from.

timestamp of 1:40 run it at .25 speed

Doesn't matter how hard or easy the pick was at the time. I've seen DB stars drop those easy picks many times. You still have to catch the ball. He did it twice very easily and the moment wasn't to big for him because he was running for a TD with each one. I seen some DB's get excited on just getting the pick and they stand there waiting to get tackled.

If you take away the INT, he looked like Ronnie Lott last week.

I say this fully acknowledging he had a terrible Ole Miss game.

I mean he almost has 4 picks without being writhing 10 feet of a defender.

it was a little bit Army ducking up.
