He’ll support expanding powers of interim speaker.

Which is wholly unconstitutional.

The number of people who vote against him on the floor will only increase with each round of balloting, Republicans say. There’s a coordinated effort among the 55 Republicans who opposed Jordan in an internal conference meeting last week to build on their votes of opposition to ensure that he loses more votes each round, according to three Republicans familiar with the plan. In other words, he loses more votes with each round he holds

Wrong. They removed a liar.

It isn't a disaster until they've chosen worse. Low hurdle.

I think in this case The House can make its own rules to be technically accurate.

We'll never know what kind of leadership an assistant wrestling coach that turned a blind eye to sexual assault of his wrestlers, could have been. America's loss. Sad.

I don't think so. Article I Section 2 only says "The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other officers." It says nothing about the Speakers role, how the Speaker is chosen, anything. It's very ambiguous so I think a valid argument can be made that expanding the Interim Speakers powers functionally makes him the Speaker and jives with Article I Section 2.

Jordan's team had said they intended to keep going with a third vote, with supporters optimistic that he could gain support. However, there had also been other potential candidates emerging from the wings amid the stalemate.

My wholly speculative and uninformed list of possibilities:

Byron Donalds
Thomas Massie
Elise Stefanik
Lee Zeldin

What's Poli's problem with McHenry? The guy was based AF a few weeks ago when he evicted Pelosi while she was attending a funeral.

How can these guys listen to their constituents when those same constituents have to be told what they want?

This is why you don't oust the speaker of your own party like that. This whole thing is so stupid. Said that from day one when everyone was acting like getting rid of McCarthy was some massive victory
