I say yes. Lets win out and give this boy what he's earned this year.

If we run the table and win the SEC, yes.

Anything less, probably not.

Washington will have to lose and we have to win out, including the SECCG

Tebow won with like 4 losses. I think getting to ATL may be enough

Remember that we could have chaos and Washington losing a couple and/or other candidates soaring. This may be a year that it’s a neck and neck race depending on who gets the votes

I get the weird feeling that they really want someone else to win the Heisman. Whenever they talk about the race, they brush aside the fact that he's clearly got the best stats in the league and go on and on about LSU's defense. I get that win/loss record is a big deal (for right or wrong), but the talking heads are really pushing that fact whenever his name is brought up alongside Penix and the others'. Penix DOES have comparable passing stats, but Daniels will have close to or over 1,000 yards rushing. Unless we lose 4 games, JD should win. I just don't think they'll give it to him. Williams won the Heisman with 3 losses in 2022, but he plays in Southern California. IF our guy was playing at Notre Dame, Ohio State, or some other non-southern school, he'd be getting much more love.

Depends. Daniels is 3rd right now behind Penix and Gabriel. Gabriel and OU don't play a ranked team the rest of the way and he will have video game numbers. They will be 12-0 so he will be in NYC.

Don't discount McCarthy and Drake Maye. Both could very well go 12-0 or 11-1 at worst.

If he doesn’t win hope he at least can have the New York experience for the ceremony

Best case scenario is probably an invite to NYC. Only way he wins is 2007 style chaos with the other contenders.

If LSU wins out and makes it to SECCG, then he will get an invite, especially if the numbers keep at this pace.
Because he has been sort of ignored since the FSU game, he will need to have some great games down the stretch.
The media is just now getting to the point where they can't ignore him any longer.
If Penix keeps pace and is undefeated, he will win it. I hope JD5 at least gets the recognition and gets an invite, he deserves it with the amount of growth and improvement in his game we have seen.

If he would have completed that game winning pass at Ole Miss, he’d be
A top the odds board now!

It will be decided by performance in November.

Seems like it’s between him & Penix and Washington’s schedule gets a lot tougher

That was in the chaotic 2007 season where none of the top teams (including LSU) had a standout offensive player. Particularly at QB. At the moment that doesn't look to be the case this season.

Daniels is on pace to throw for 4,000 yards; Rush for 1,000, and account for nearly 50 total TDs...in 12 games. If he can get there those numbers will be very hard to ignore. Unfortunately, they likely would not be enough to overcome a QB on a championship contending team with numbers somewhat close to that.

I hate that it doesn't work this way to the general public, but he did all he had to do for that pass. It was a "complete" pass, just an incomplete catch. No one outside of an LSU circle will admit his heroism on that one.

He's going to NY which is a tremendous experience and could leave with Trophy if he puts up solid numbers vs Bama, Gators and Aggies.....solid numbers ....avg. 300yds+ passing with no more than 1 INT's and 70 yds rushing and we sweep those games..GA game will be Heisman game...voters will cast ballot after that weekend...

Fresh topic. I guess you didn't voice your opinion in the other "JD for Heisman" type threads.
