stop trying to think of teachers as being stand-in parents
Parents today, for the most part, do not want to be actual parents. They rely on daycare, schools, grandparents,… everyone and everything except themselves. They are too busy being self absorbed to parent their kids and it’s too easy to just throw $ at someone or something than to actually parent a child. (All the while complaining about the costs)
That’s what a couple of easy generations have gotten us. Too much comfort and easy access to excesses has led to rampant narcissism.

Kids being raised by single parents is not ideal and in some cases really hurt the child emotionally.
In some cases? Try most or all. Divorce destroys society more than drugs and alcohol.

People better wake up. Trump tried to tell us and look what they are doing to him.

Agreed. Couples don’t tough it out anymore.

I'm even seeing more and more with pierced ears and even a few noses.

A lot of this falls on the shoulders of the generation before them. With divorce rates so high, corrupt televangelists bilking their flock, etc... it's really no surprise they feel this way. If only they had better examples to follow.
(Of course there are exceptions/good examples out there, but those are overshadowed)

The problem is that the liberals won the war on education while we didn't even know it was being waged.
This.
And more profoundly than I think most people realize. Everyone sees the college students interviewed at the beach on the 4th of July who don't know who America gained freedom from (If they even know that's what the celebration is for in the first place). We all know that they have deliberately not taught history and civics.
But I think it goes deeper than that.
I think they've taught a couple of generations of people at this point that logic and reason are irrelevant and even stupid.
I started noticing this years ago when I would come across YouTube videos of William Lane Craig debating atheists. He would absolutely demolish the atheist, and often there was a panel of academic judges who would confirm that he won the debate according to formal, academic logic. But you would read the comments and it would be full of atheists claiming victory because their guy told a better Flying Spaghetti Monster joke or demonstrating that they were incapable of following Craig's logic and belittling him for using it in the first place, like it was a trick.
It's now seeped into the Republican Party in the form of all of these people who are proudly populist and consciously reject actual conservatism. it started off with people not realizing that they were rejecting conservatism. Now they embrace it.
