Six points means you are down by 1 within the red zone at the end. Kick that and you have a chance to win in a walk-off.

Did he miss 2 kicks? Yes

Do we know how either of those possible make change the game?

No we do not.

This is what people don't get. You make those kicks and the strategy for the other team changes. Field position changes, no turnover on downs. Kickoffs and different play calls now come into play. The entire dynamic of the game can change.

Can’t blame Grupe, all day he was kicking into the air conditioning of the dome.

It is coaching as a whole and it stems from the head coach. I specifically remember Kamara calling out the bs. Saying in practice no one care if penalties are committed, wrong lineups, etc etc

So neither Pete nor the kicker have been shown the door today? This organization is not serious about winning.

Underhill said the Saints said they don't really care about that. Its the workouts that matter.

Never in my life heard of in-game kicking not mattering.

Must not have actually listened to Rizzi's explanation. There was some logic there. Hell, Lutz was 69% in college w a few missed extra points.

But the statement was they were not as focused on the end result because of all the differences between kicking in college & NFL. Different balls, different hashmarks, different holders from year-to-year, often have different long snappers throughout the season. Long snapper has different responsibilities in college game, so not as much focus on snapping/timing. Their focus was more about the kickers snap, and angle from the ball leaving his foot. They also study more on all of the post-college kicking camps, and the results there because then they are at least working with NFL balls and angels.

Some sound logic there, just not panning out w/ Grupe.

All 3 of his missed kicks were beautiful and long enough. He just pushed them like a bad putt in golf, I think the kids head is fricked up now. Like a pitcher throwing 98 but can’t find the strike zone. Hope he gets past this or he’s done. Too bad to cause he has a super strong leg.

Pushing seems like a failure to ‘finish’ the kick, or release through the ball. Easy enough to fix I assume…

I can excuse him for the long one. Not the short one.

He misses a kick against Jags- hes gone. They probably would have brought kickers this week but they play on Thursday.

Bingo....Unless you are lining up for a kick in the final seconds then who knows what would have happened.

Even against Green Bay there was over a minute left and GB had one time out...Does anyone believe that defense that always goes into the worst prevent shell would not have let them get 45 yards to get off at least a 47 yarder to win it.

I was one of the few Wil Lutz defenders on here when that unfortunate decision was made.

What? The missed 29 yarder was a duck hook.

Thought he pushed them all…no 29 yd miss is good. I’ve seent it though. Missing short while charting and kicking in games are those typically out on a hash.
