was auburn's offense that bad, or is our defense improving?

it's both. Pete Jenkins has helped the dline overnight, but what really is making a difference is that we have finally found the spot for Harold Perkins, Jr. The guy is the playmaker on our defense.
any sign of improvement of our defense is really, really, really, good news. we are still mathematically and theoretically in the run for the championship series.

Without Perkins making an impact every game, this defense will get exposed.

It’s both. But keep in mind Alabama, Florida and A&M are all better than Auburn.

Both. However, AU is on par with MSU, so keep that in mind…

Secondary is still pitiful, they’re basically a lost cause at this point. But we do have the talent to improve everywhere else.

HP4 was laying the wood tonight.
That hit he made on the 2 point conversion was glorious

It’s both.
No one thinks the issues are gone. But tackling was significantly better tonight.
And that alone is enough for us to win the next 5 games and head to Atlanta

They are ranked 13/14 teams is SEC for total offense. You tell me.

It doesn’t matter how bad an offense is… tackling happened tonight

ole piss plays at UGA on nov 11
seems like some of the DB miscommunications are getting better
tackling is definitely getting better
DE, DT and LB play was better but they couldnt pass for shite so we werent exactly tested
we did shut down their running game for the most part
all we need is for the Defense to improve to finishing 8/9/10th level in the League with this LSU offense leading the way

I agree. This isn't a very powerful or innovative Auburn offense, but they have been effective for stretches. It was clear that the LSU defense was as well-prepared as any game this season.
That paid off in stops and getting off the field. Still soft and dangerous on third downs, but far fewer freebies given up today.
I guess it felt like more penalties today (on both sides) and maybe that is a sign of a little more fire, but cleaning that up would be nice.
I will say that I've been very negative about the defense, really since last year and particularly from Day 1 this year and I think this was a solid-to-good, although not great, defensive effort. The other positive out of this is that there clearly have been some things improved just over the past 2 weeks so additional adjustments may yield yet more improvement, although I still think this is not a defense that can get us to a SEC Championship.
Still lots to do on defense, but a significant and most welcome positive swing over 2 weeks.

But not necessarily that much better on offense, especially with Max Johnson at QB now for A&M.
