I should know this but why do we not wear purple (Home) jerseys more often for home games

Instead of the white (away) jerseys?

because tradition holds that we wear white.
Our White Jerseys with Gold helmets and Pants is iconic.

Should wear em for all OOC home games.

You are either 5 years old and your parents are spelling this thread for you or you just became an LSU fan.
It was Dietzel who started the Home White tradition because it was to freaking hot during day games and at night for that matter.

Because Dinardo is the man

Because the purple jerseys with yellow pants are nasty and should never be worn IMO.

Yes, you definitely should know this.

When’s the last time that LSU wore purple at home against an SEC opponent??

I prefer the purple jerseys at home, so we can look like St. Martinville of the 80's.

Because Skenes doesn't play football.

Because you are under the age of 25 and do not understand LSU's tradition and history of the white jerseys.

I seem to recall back in the Dalton Hilliard days and thereabouts we wore purple quite a bit more, like at least 4 to 5 of those 11 reg season games back then. Or maybe I'm off my rocker and have foggy memory. Always like the purple especially in the 80's when the shoulder pad white would sneak through the mesh.

There’s some deep cultural memories of the early 90’s when LSU was practically putrid and constantly getting abused in those purple jerseys. This led to a superstitions that not only were the white ones good luck, but that the purple ones were cursed similar to Notre Dame fans and the green jerseys.
Superstitious LSU fans are always skeptical of purple jerseys and day games. For a long time, LSU’s record showed a clear statistical advantage for wearing white and playing at night, but there was some serious selection bias explaining that. Day games were televised, meaning that for decades, LSU only played during the day when they were facing a highly ranked opponent. They wore purple at home during some of their worst seasons in franchise history. Thus, the juju was born.
LSU almost never wears purple in SEC play, and when they do, it’s against Miss St or Vanderbilt. Purple is for rent-a-wins only, because any time LSU loses in purple, the fanbase collectively loses their minds and bitches about how those unis are cursed and never should be worn.

Tradition and it was seen as bad luck to wear purple jerseys.

Because we like the whites.

Ga Tech and LSU- traditional white at home

They're believed to be bad luck when we wear them with gold helmets and pants.
There's no superstition associated with white, purple, white, however

Because the white jerseys are magic.
