Annular solar eclipse across Texas on Saturday

Gonna take the drive and check it out. This is annular or a "ring of fire" eclipse. Not as cool as one where the moon covers the sun entirely like that one in 2017 or the one across Texas in 2024.

Make all the jokes you want, but unexpected effects of this eclipse are the only hope Texas A&M has against Tennessee.

Love is a burnin' thing,
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire.
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire.

Sure, but anyone outside of the totality path will hardly know it's going on.

Looks like we get about 90% eclipse in Granbury. Might make the three-hour drive to San Angelo for 100%.

I'm trying to figure out where to go. Places were a shitshow in 2017. I wanted to go to the beach in Corpus but I can't imagine the hellhole that's going to be. I'll probably drive to some small town.
