It is a tough choice.

I needed a back seat for our dog, and I have wanted a Targa for a long time, but I totally get his thoughts.

Most would consider the definition of a sports car was one that was a two seater, two door, manual shift. An independent rear suspension was a plus if equipped.
Agree that many were bought for cruising back in the day, but the L88 C2 & C3’s and later ZR1’s were pretty formidable track cars.

Well, you're wrong, but you aren't alone.

OP is considering a almost average-priced car in today's world.
Yet, it is fast and fun and will retain value better than almost anything else on the market.

The outside of that car looks badass. But that might be the ugliest dashboard known to man. My god that is bad.

I have the ‘22 Z06 hard top convertible and love it. Not healthy for my lead foot, though.

This is one ignorant sob.

frick that noise. If I'm spending that kinda dough on a car and it's not a classic of some sort, that's exactly what I want. Something spectacular.

I have a ‘23 2LT Z51. Finally got some track time last week. Love the car, but liked my manual ‘21 Mach 1 a little better on the track. The Vette is amazing when it comes to raw speed though.

Here’s a lap when I was chasing a Nissan GTR & Cayman GT4…

…and coming into turn 1 a little hot

There is a recently deceased guy that lived near me that owned the spring that the local water utility gets all its water from. He literally bought a new Vette every single year for many, many years and kept them all.

This. The simpletons on here will downvote away, but this is the correct answer

I haven't driven an M2, but test drove an M4 in 2019 before buying a new C7 instead. They're nice and appreciate the fact they're one of the last remaining manuals on the market, but aren't really in the same category as a dedicated sports car. I'd rather see BMW drop the useless backseat and make a real 2 seater.

I'm going to guess the performance difference between the M4 and the C8 with a DCT is even wider than it was with the front engine'd C7.

I live in Madison
(Middleton,WI) I see so many new corvettes it’s gotten to be a bore. It’s looks so try hard.

I’d much rather spy an old school rare car. Hell, I saw a mint condition ford escort the other day and I was like “holy shite!”
