I just tried to get through this training video and immediately felt like I was a true freshman in a Todd Grantham defense.

I’ve been to a few Waffle Houses where the guy on the griddle was way underpaid.

It’s one of the hardest jobs in the food service industry.

Back in my day when I worked in the restaurant industry, I always said that a WH line cook has to be the hardest job in the industry.

There were people in the other thread who were dead serious arguing that waffle house cooks and servers were legitimately worthless (their words) individuals that could be replaced by anyone off the street later that day.

Waffle house cooks are legit as hell and it’s well known in the industry that pulling from waffle house is the way to go if you need a short order cook/chef de cuisine who can handle pressure and move plates fast and accurately.

fricking idiots lmao.

I grew up near a family where a single mom was raising a slow son. He could do simple tasks and had a great memory, but just wasn’t cut out for regular work. Through the years he’d gotten depressed due to being unable to do anything.

Someone suggested Waffle House, and he tried out as a line cook. Completely changed his life. His mental abilities made him perfect for it as far as memory and repetitive tasks. He’ll never be rich, but he has his own life now.

Seems like it would be a lot easier to just give the cook a copy of the order on paper or, better yet , a screen if you want to get high tech.

When in this video do they reveal their secret to the best chicken ever? Their grilled chicken is out of this world.
