The '90s was when the bush finally became tamed.

If the major social media platforms (not TD, obviously) didn’t exist, we would be half way back to the 90s vibe.

Take away smart phones and bring back malls and we’re getting close.

It was.

That said, it wasn't perfect, and many conveniences that you take for granted were either in their infant state, or non-existant.

You had internet, but no streaming.
You had instant messaging-- but it wasn't in your pocket
You had expanded eating options-- but delivery was rare.
You had email-- but checked it every couple of days.

People hadn't lost their ever loving minds yet, either-- and we still had things like WW2 vets around, to remind us that this shite was not built by accident.

I was 10 in 1980 and kids today will never know about these things.

Going to school in full camo so your Dad could check you out of school early for the opening day of dove season.

Wearing full Camo for Halloween to make it harder for the older kids to hit you with rocks, crab apples etc.

Crank calls
Ring and run

Stealing lumber from new homes being built to build forts and tree houses

Buying fart spray at Spencers to use it on other people at the mall.

Renting a video tape

Saturday Night Boxing

Sneaking into ponds to fish

A guy I know always says growing up in the mid 80s to mid 90s was the prime time to be a kid. Every summer was basically like living the Goonies. Except they never actually found a pirate ship.

Just saying that an air fryer is just a marketing ploy for a new gadget because people have been "air frying" for a long time by using other traditional cooking methods.
ok still a weird take by starting off with assuming I don’t cook but I get what you’re saying

Born in 91, so I remember it from a kids perspective. I always think about things like sporting events and travel. If you didn't know where someone was going to be or they didn't show up in time, you couldn't just text and ask, you either bailed on them or had a meeting place and waited until they showed.

Think of all the missed connections because of the lack of technology, which is a good and a bad.
