We can probably get the application numbers and size of the current police academy class and figure that one out pretty quick.
Applications bottomed out after the Sterling case and I don’t think there has been any significant increase since then. Which means they are picking from the dregs to fill the class.

I agree that an arrest shouldn't disqualify someone because they may be innocent however this dude lied to the police. How can you ever put your trust in this guy. Also, there was once a high ranking officer with the last name Valdry at BRPD. He was basically useless and not very smart.

Well, of course not. He’s outraged on behalf of black folks that aren’t outraged because it’s their buddies that run the entire thing in BR. It’s quite the conundrum for him, but he doesn’t think that far ahead.

I’m explaining their mindset, not excusing it.
They haven’t come to the realization that a lot of hiring managers have come to which is that hiring a shite employee is worse for you than not hiring anyone for that slot.

They don’t give a flying frick.
Remember, these poor aggrieved leaders have won awards for their work. SpidermanTuba, who is one that likes to feign injustice, just had one of his political heroes, Eric Holder, give Murphy Paul a huge award for his work. Also was praised for his fight against all the White Supremacy here in Baton Rouge.
This entire cluster frick is completely predictable at every level, down to what the usual suspects will do and say in response.

Why not? The vast majority of people allowed to carry a weapon in public are not required to undergo any firearms safety training whatsoever. Why is it concerning a cop is poorly trained in firearms safety when almost any citizen can pull out a handgun anytime they want to save the day?

Being found guilty means a jury believed you did it beyond a reasonable doubt.
Being arrested means there was probable cause to believe you committed the offense.
I’d think probable cause is enough to eliminate someone from being an applicant
