I was cooking this afternoon and my little girl (3) wanted to help so I let her. She was taking it all in smiling from ear to ear. We started dancing and being silly. Almost has me in tears don’t ever take the little things for granted. Hug those babies tight.

I let my son help me make egg in the holes this morning and then had to spend 20 minutes cleaning egg out of every crevice of my kitchen.
Just so everyone knows the other side of the story

Ahh, birthday’s were the best. Pancake batter everywhere, burnt toast and lumpy grits. Wouldn’t change it for the world.

It goes by quick so enjoy every moment you can. One day they’re a little tyke and you’re the center of their universe.
Then before you know it, they’re grown and going out in the world and leaving you behind.

I got to watch the LSU game with my son (11) this weekend with some friends. He's been around before but this time im he really got into the game and cheering. I let him say "Geaux to hell ol' Piss!" . He was a hit and we had a blast. Even though we lost, it was an awesome experience and taught him that sometimes your team loses.
Love my kids so much. They grow up so fast

Watching cartoons on Saturday mornings, snuggling with my two kids on the sofa, were the best days of my life. It goes by so quickly.

I wife and I went to get our little one’s 3rd haircut today. He acted grumpy the whole time. It was adorable.

Getting old sucks. But it beats the hell out of the alternative.

I think every night how lucky I am to have one who WANTS me to brush her teeth, and then she goes and lays herself down and goes to bed.
Almost makes up for not sleeping through the night for the first 2 years.

My kid (11) had a BJJ tourney this weekend. Not his first and he usually does well, but he struggles with confidence when he faces a kid that’s bigger than he is or even more so, one that is hyper-aggressive. He tends to beat himself before the match begins. This weekend was different. Him & another kid went after it. For 3 minutes they looked like grown men. He fought tooth & nail and held off a submission for the last :45 secs & won a close match, his 3rd in a row. Cool…. But not the coolest. The opposing coach walked up to him & says “hey lil man, I just gotta tell you, you’re tough as nails”. THAT was better than the medal he brought home. I was beaming with pride & so was he.

One thing I do for my kids on their birthdays is write them a letter. I write of all the things they did, vacations we went on, milestones achieved, memories made within the last year. I always end the letter with how proud I am of them and how much I love them, then I put the letter in an envelope, date the envelope, and put it in my safe to give to them at a later date. I haven’t decided if I’ll give it to them when they graduate high-school, on their wedding day, or some other momentous occasion, but I figure I’ll know when the time is right. Writing these letters is just as much for me as it is for them since it forces me to reflect on the last year and all of the fond memories made with them.

And you will be too, and a lot faster that you think. Remember this when the younger ones are saying the same thing to you.

My 3 year old son is asleep in the other room. Got my eyes watering reading this thread.
Our neighborhood is a big circle so every now and then I’ll let him sit in my lap while I drive my truck around. Did that yesterday afternoon just him and I. Just tried to soak it all in.
