Brilliant thread. That "overrated" Maason Smith was offered by Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A$M, Oregon, USC and many others. Gee guess all those coaches couldn't see that Smith is overrated like this poster.

All those coaches need to check in with you before they offer anyone.

Just another example of our coaches holding a talented player back. I will be really surprised if he is still around next year if LSU doesn't make a major change in the defensive staff.

Maybe certain coaches are capable of making certain players Play Better or Play period. I hope Big 0 finds you and shows you what he can do

Smith is a great athlete…but a bad football player. There is a difference.

He’s a 5 star prospect because there are very few people who are 6’5 300 at 18 years old. But he plays with terrible technique and even worse effort. He plays with no leverage at all. At 6’5 that makes him easy to block. That’s made even easier by the fact he’s lazy.

Forget what he looks like coming off the bus. He’s LSU 4th or 5th best DT…if that

Just wondering where you are listed on the coaching staff? You seem to have very intimate knowledge of Smith. Are you his position coach?

Freak actually did a lil damage. Maason is not doing that right now.

Those same people chased after Sopsher, Freak Johnson, And all the other five star busts we see. That just indicated the lists aren’t everything.

The guy was overrated.

For whatever reason I was paying attention that summer and some of the hype on tRant was as like “can a d-lineman win the Heisman?!?” and the dude had not played a down of football yet. Did bounce around the NFL for 6 seasons and is still playing pro football. Funny that today he’d get a massive NIL deal which he could cash in for 3 years before going undrafted and signing as a free agent

Clearly something is not right! I think it's a combination of poor coaching, laziness, poor technique and trying not to get hurt because he thinks he's a sure first round draft pick. He's the largest player on the field and an entire game can go by and I never notice him. That should never happen!

Well after the tape he is putting out there currently, I’m quite certain he will not be a first round pick after this season.

That "overrated guy" Smith played a grand total of maybe 15 minutes of college football in 2022, TOTAL! Are you blind? He was a freshman All American in 2021. He injured his ankle just before the Fla St game and didn't play at all against them. He played sparingly the next 2 games.

Smith will make you guys sorry y'all made these stupid statements. Of course if some get their way we may have to play against him because he transfer to another SEC school. Why? Because a lot of fans suck here and his coach was fired.
