Anti-royalty was the whole premise of the United States. The idea was that we would all be treated equally. It sickens my stomach to see the flag lowered just because some employee or agent of the government has died. Someone who wielded power over us and in most cases made our lives worse and eroded our freedoms. Nope, when the villains fall the kingdom shouldn't weep. Unless the country is under duress, the flag should fly high.

Also, no one should be given a security detail. None of us get one. Let them pay for it themselves. They have plenty of their own money they can spend on security.

There was a time govt employees got pensions to make up for the less pay they received for being govt employees.

Now they make more, get more benefits and still get generous pensions.

Taxpayers getting worked by everyone.

Not the other way around.

When exactly had a government employee ever had flags flown at half staff when they died?

Do you people even read the crap you post?

A cop that dies in the line of duty is vastly different than the typical government employee. Maybe I spoke too quickly, but that doesn't change the fact that OP's comment is dumb as shite.

They aren't lowering the flags anytime a mail carrier or biologist dies.

Dude, it's ok if you're living on the dole. No judgement here. That's the only reason I can come up with for why you are so adamant in defending the god-damned government.

Conservatism is about stability, institutional preservation of knowledge and wealth, social norms, hierarchy. Yours is the logic of the revolutionary left, the losers of history.

Even cops?

Behold the race to the bottom mind of the Republicans. It's what allows Blackrock Democrats to thrive.

They haven't gone back to work yet after COVID.

Federal government is still de facto wfh in DC.

Learned that from a senate page who spent the summer there.

And they will all get back pay after the shutdown. They will be paid for everyday they missed. Happens everytime. Nothing saved by shutting it down. It’s insane
