Just make sure you do your homework on instructors. Too many stick to one technical swing. The new age of golf is using your athleticism and not to be very technical but some teachers will not adapt. Before you make a decision I advise calling and talking to Paxton at Pelican Point. Not saying go with him but he will be great to get advice from. He studies the swing more than anyone I ever met.

That’s what I’m trying to do now. Before I spend the money lessons cost I want to make sure I get the best guy but also want to try and be accommodating to be schedule as well

I went to Rob from age 13-17 or so and went from a break 85 player to a break 75 player by the time I got burnt out and wanted to focus on fishing and drinking. I do think the drives out to MoneyHill from TCC added to the burnout. James had just been hired at TCC when I quit Rob and I went to several lessons with him. He is a good coach, less technical and more feel oriented IMO. For what it is worth, I think Rob is a better coach for college development. All the St Paul’s players will be out there too so if you plan on him going there for school he will be with his future peers competing and getting better.

There are several guys at Tchefuncta with Leitz as well. I have been to Dustin there and enjoyed his lessons. Their practice facility is awesome - building at the end of the range with bays that open up to the range, trackman and TVs in both bays.
As far as who to go with I agree with the poster that said whoever has the coaching style your son prefers. For me I have done lessons at Carter and BC as well with more old school guys who really didn't use video; just out on the range swinging. I found the more visual aspect of being able to see my swing and what they were saying to be extremely beneficial

Ask Fred if that is Beau Chen he is hitting balls at. I guess Fred is still the head pro there.

Rob doesn't do much with kids and he will pawn you off to Nic.
Leitz is really good but really expensive.
Check out Diamondhead. Hoppy and Jason are excellent with kids. They have several top regional junior golfers in their program.
