I’ve been going strong, but this week we were in negotiations for an investment property that wore me out. The emotional toll this process took on me and the never ending grind of the 75 days got the better of me.

It just slipped my mind. I woke up this AM realizing that I failed. I didn’t read the 10 pages of a self development book. That’s what got me. I’m really okay with it. It definitely changed my life for the better. I’m not even going to workout today now. The body needs a week off. And I may not drink a drop water!

My plan is to switch my morning workout into a meditation session.

If you haven’t considered the program, I highly recommend it if you want to get control of your life.

That’s the the one aspect of 75 Hard that I find ridiculous. I mean, I understand it’s a challenge and all. But internalizing failure for ONE mistake isn’t conducive to building a healthy psyche around health and fitness.

Just roll on with it. You’ve already done enough to establish good habits, which is all 75 Hard is aiming for.

I’m just relieved right now. I just finished meditating with the insight timer app. My plan is to work up to 45 minutes a day.

I already feel like a success with the program, but if I maintain this meditation habit because of the discipline gained from #75HARD, then my ultimate goals can be reached.

70 more days than many! Nowhere near as intense, but I did dry January for a few years and this year, said no way. Taught myself much better habits and consistency is key. Have gone from 209 lbs to 180 lbs and logged over 600 miles running (couldn't do a lap without walking on Jan 2nd). Small brag, yes, but these all or nothing programs are made to fail. Props to those who complete them, but with work travel, So Fla heat/humidity, etc, it's got to be brutal.

Read 20 pages today. Look at it as a total course over 75 days instead of day by day.

You did better than me. I only focused on the diet, alcohol and exercise portion and averaged 1 hour 20 minutes of exercise daily instead of 1.5 hours.
That said, I lost 15 pounds and was under 15% body fat for the first time in decades. I have no regrets and will start again in 2 weeks with the same modifications.

This is definitely not a failure.

The important thing is developing long term sustainable healthy habits.

I do the 75 Hard habits about 80% every day forever, but I don't think the last 20% is worth shutting down your entire life for.

Side note - Meditation changed my life and 100% recommend you tackle this habit next.

Exactly. Every guy I know that has done this, has talked nonstop about it, and they all give off that vibe. Just workout and eat better and read a little if you want to. I guess some people need to be told every little thing.

I tell very few people about my experience, but they all ask about the weight loss.
To me it’s a gimmicky accomplishment tracker (I use the app) but it works for me. You should do whatever works for you.

I want to be authentic. If I didn’t accomplish what is required, I’m not going to read twenty pages the next day and say that I did.

This was my life while I did 3 weeks of 75 hard:
Diet - paleo
4am - coffee then 1st 45 min workout
5am - read
5:30am - wake wife up, cook breakfast, eat, shower, ready for work
6:30am - leave
7-3 work
3:30 home, walk dogs
4pm to 4:15, relax and unwind
4:15 - 2nd workout
5or 5:30pm begin on dinner
6:30 shower
6:45-7:45 or later - studying for grad school
Bed by 9pm at the latest, pushed for 8pm

Then the weekends:
5am - 1st workout, usually a walk after coffee
6am - cook breakfast
7-11, farm work
11-12 lunch
12-2 either 2nd workout or farm work
2-6 it’s too damn hot outside, read book and study for grad school
6 till sundown- farm

Sub in farm for house repairs if you’d like.

So yes, some of us lead very busy lives with no real days off.

And if you ask, even Christmas morning and all that week we were tending to the cattle and breaking water troughs with 3-4” of ice.

not gonna lie, with 3 kids I would kill for that schedule. Most days i wake at 530, out the door by 630 and 3 days a week not home until after 9, other days about 715 and then try and workout between 8-10 lol.

kids are amazing and i live to be a good father but jesus the amount of time all their different activities take is insane.
