Hell, it's not even consistent within A New Hope.

Obi Wan chops off that testicle faced monster's arm and it bleeds.

Later when Darth Vader tries to cut Obi Wan in half his body completely vanishes and his robes take zero damage.

I'm joining the game late, but this series has been very well done. BUT, if you didn't watch Rebels, it will probably be pretty tough to follow or get into. This is really just a live-action continuation of that series.

Rebels has done the best job of offering a unique perspective to the Star Wars universe.

A New Hope.

Speaking of, rewatched it a few nights ago for the first time in forever. It never struck me before but Han/Harrison Ford was the star of that film. He provided the perfect balance between characters. He was the reckless, wisecracking, bad arse to Luke’s youthful naivety and provided the obvious sexual tension between him and Laya and her bitchiness. He was also the skeptic to Obi Wan’s devotion to the force.

Should also mention that Vader didn’t seem to get much respect either which makes me question his place in the hierarchy of the empire. There were a few officers openly mocking him and the force. His role seemed to be more of an attack dog / henchman than any particular leadership role within the empire.

He holds no official rank, and that conference room was full of people like Chief of the Army and Chief of the Navy. Admiral Motti was just arrogant.

Tarkin is like the highest ranked a person can be under the Emperor and Vader. Vader does as he says simply because he is respecting his command of the Sector and of the Death Star.

Vader’s orders are considered that of the Emperor’s, and would override anyone in that room at that time. Following the ANH, Vader temporarily loses that authority. But by Empire, he is back to having complete command.

Empire ranks.

A Grand Moff was like a military governor.
A grand admiral was like a field Marshall. The Grand Vizer was that blue guy with horns always with the emperor. He was the emperor 's liasion to the senate while Vader was that role to the military.

Each basically was the word of the emperor.

There was only one grand moff, Tarkin. Yet there were twelve grand admirals over 12 sectors.

Was anybody else waiting for those nomad turtles to refer to Ezra as Jabba the Hutt?

No disagreement there, just pointing out the general lack of respect he received. Both sides tended to view him as nothing more than attack dog. Laya even told Tarkin that she should have expected him to be holding Vader’s leash… anyway, it was just an observation. I never picked up on the nuances as a kid when I watched it a thousand times.

I think you can toss out a lot of inconsistencies in A New Hope. How Vader is treated by everyone in Empire and Jedi is probably more in line with how the hierarchy actually worked with Vader respecting Tarkin but being close to him in rank within the Empire. I highly doubt anyone other than Tarkin and Palpatine himself were over Vader. Then once Tarkin is gone, Vader has free rein and pretty much authority over damn near everyone not named The Emperor.

Finally had time to read the thread

I'm enjoying the show it's not amazing but it's not bad, lots of people overthinking it and putting way too much thought into it

Not that it's unusual for Star Wars for fans to do that

Keep in mind, Lucas did not intend for Vader to be made into a main character. Didn't expect his popularity.

Is Ashoka Better than Ezra?

If so, will we get acoustic or full band performances?
Would love to see her sing “king of New Orleans”

I find it fascinating that one of the most feared villains in the galaxy has the most beautifully rich voice of a very distinguished black gentleman in one James Earl Jones. It works so well making Vader this menacing yet refined sort of evil.

im going to keep this going.
quote:

Qui Gon got stabbed and then hung around for a bit. He still was alive a good 15 minutes after he was stabbed because Obi still had to wait 2-3 minutes for the energy gate to open and then Maul fought for a bit, then Maul taunted him for a little bit while Obi was hanging in the pit. Then Obi pulled himself out and cut down Maul. That was at least 10-15 minutes and Qui Gon still held on to give some instruction to Obi Wan

Sabine got medical attention almost immediately after being stabbed,
who said? wasnt she way out at some outpost?

quote:

It’s way more plausible than stupid arse Reva surviving a stab wound from Vader with ZERO medical attention

well all of Reva is just horrible.... from her writing to her acting.

So I am watching Field of Dreams the other night, and my 7yr old hears JEJ talking, and immediately asks me from the other room if I I was watching Star Wars because he hears Darth Vader talking. Proud father moment.

Very curious as to what Baylen is seeking on this planet.

Two possibilities..

Most far fetched is Abeloth.. She was a human servant of The Ones that the father married .. Long story short she wanted to be immortal did so but is extremely F'd up at this point and extremely powerful.. Legends Luke Skywalker can't defeat but only imprison her.. and legends Luke was stupid powerful..

2nd and more likely it's the Dark Sage Zeffo Kujet he used to rule Peridea and Star Wars likes to hang on to darkside users.. Plus we've already seen Zeffo symbols in this season.. If you were paying attention

3rd I could be 100% wrong and it's something entirely different..

Could be followers of Kujet. I think Kujet’s tomb is on Dathomir, so he should be dead.

Unless its witchcraft magic stuff that has kept his spirit alive.

Yeah his tomb being in a different galaxy does pose that issue for him, but the tie for him is there.. and that could be why the nightsisters are looking to leave. They need to travel to Dathomir to revive him maybe??.

But if the Nightsisters are truly scared of being there that's why I thought Abeloth...
When Baylan mentioned the planet being a place of nightmares and dreams that was one of her powers of controlling force sensitives ...
