Completely agree with you. The boot trophy is made up garbage, from an idiot Hog worshipper, that cheapens the game. Rivalries are born from years of hard fought battles that often trade back and forth and are earned, not from a “fabricated” trophy.

Agreed! Met him and Herbstreit at 2003 statement game against the David(s) Pollack and Green Georgia Bulldogs. Close friend of the family was EBR deputy assigned to their security and got me in to meet the whole Gameday crew. Herbie was cool, Corso wouldn't even come over to say hello but Fowler and I talked for a good 10 minutes. He was genuinely interested in this fans perspective of LSU's up an comence with Saban at the time. Best play by play man currently in the biz and pretty damn high on the all time list as well. Met Brandon Bass and Coach Brady outside the P-Mac that day as well...was a good day!

The rece Davis hate is completely uncalled for. He’s as knowledgeable about the ins and outs of college football as anybody. He is totally tuned in. And if you listen to him, he drops inside jokes from message board all the time. He’s made Joey Freshwater jokes on college gameday. He’s a real college football dude and the sport is better with him around it.
I still liked Fowler more on gameday but Rece Davis is great in his own right. He’s smarmy but it’s clearly a bit of a character he plays on tv. He’s much more subdued on his podcast.
ETA: also this is only happening because it’s a 4 hour flight from south bend to Eugene and gameday only ends like 3 and a half hours before the Oregon game starts. He just can’t make it in time.
