I am partial to Our Mom's and think they make a better burger than Burgersmith. I'm not sure about Curbside because I've never eaten there.

The SoLou burger is one of the top 5 burgers I've eaten in my life. I had to go back to have it again just to confirm my original impression.
"SoLou Burger
SoLou custom blend, candied bacon jam, white cheddar, fried onion rings, truffle aioli, mayhaw BBQ sauce, sourdough bun, served with fries and housemade smoked ketchup."

Forgot about SoLou as it's more upscale than most places mentioned here - that burger is amazing

i had one from there, nuot sure if it was that one... it was ok....
IMO all that fluff should not be taken into consideration.....
Put the patty on the bun with what ever condiment you want and that should be the even playing field.
Which makes Riverside being the best, amazing because they you mass produced sesame seed bun from the grocery store.
One place the closed down which was a top BR burger was Driftwood downtown.

I agree.
NOt that fancy burgers can't be great, but when discussing the best burger, it should just be a patty with cheese and your typical condiments you like (lettuce/tomatoe/pickle/onion/ketchup/mustard/mayo)

That wasn't the question. The question was asking for the best place to go in Baton Rouge to get a burger. You have to judge the burger based on how it is prepared and served at each place.
The question was not "who has the best burger assuming you get it with just meat and then put your own condiments on it?"

Not true. When you dig into the question and really start judging the burgers you have to neglect the fluff. you can still eat it but it shouldnt be a metric.

Here's what might be an interesting pick:
Portabello's

This is why the word “favorite” should always be used in the place of “best” on this board.

I somewhat agree and somewhat disagree.
A fancy burger with a low quality, unseasoned patty isn't better than a diner burger that is cooked right and well seasoned. But, a higher end burger that is executed well with awesome meat, quality cheese, and better toppings absolutely deserves a place in the conversation even if those toppings are fancier.
Example - Juban's serves a fancy burger, but I found the patty to be incredibly bland and overcooked, so I wouldn't throw their name out in this conversation. However, there are certainly places serving burgers on brioche with house made sauces and high quality toppings.. that also have a properly cooked/seasoned patty and deserve a place in the convo.
I like a diner style burger just as much as I like a nice burger, but I've had unseasoned/overcooked burgers just as often in diner/hole in the walls as I have had in nicer places.
Ultimately, both can be bad if not cooked right or unseasoned.

Hating on Dearman’s? What is your complaint about their burger? I’d seriously like to know.
It’s a simple homemade burger with no thrills made right. It doesn’t have to be your favorite or your go-to, but if you eat a Dearman’s burger and think it’s not good, you are just a terrible burger person.

Their food is pathetic. It's a nostalgia restaurant. Only reason it stays open is because people who used to go 20 years ago haven't tried other burger options. Sonic makes a better burger than them.

PRECISELY this. It is so simple that it's bad.

Does Flemmings still do their happy hour and burger?
Posted on 9/19/23 at 4:05 pm to J Murdah
Never been.
Olive or Twist does a great $5 burger and fries, I believe on Tuesdays.

They have a bar burger, I think the great happy hour deal they did went away after COVID. Wasn't it something like $5-$10 for a burger made with steak trimmings?
