I just purchased a Weston through Costco that has been great. It's bulky though. Does a noticeably better job sealing wet foods than the older Cabelas model I had that finally bit the dust.

the Anova Precision Chamber Vacuum Sealer is half the price as the chamber vac mentioned above and has worked out great for me. way better than a non-chamber vac sealer.

What's the max you would invest in one?

They do pay for themselves if you use them enough.

I have a FoodSaver and have had it for a number of years. They are reasonably priced. Below is a link on Amazon that has quite a few vac sealers. I don't see my model there, but FoodSaver has been a good brand for me.

You should try to determine whether you need a chamber model or not. They will generally seal better and can do better with wet/liquid, but you'll have to deal with inner chamber size constraints and they tend to be more expensive and take up more room.

This is the Anova model I have, $140. They make a smaller one for half the cost.

I use inkbird via amazon. Just sealed up some steaks and into the bath, also an inkbird product.

I don't need anything fancy, just seal the bags up. It does that task without issue.

I bought this one almost 2 years ago and it's been great. I put up 200+ lbs of meat every year, and this has handled it great. It's not a $700 chamber sealer, but it works perfectly fine for normal jobs. I was somewhat hesitant to buy a $40 vac sealer, but I have been very pleased with this one. It's probably the 5th or 6th different one I've owned, and would buy this one again if mine broke today.

After my Food Saver broke, I bought one similar to this off of Amazon for about the same price. It's worked great for going on 6 years now. I think that for most folks, the more expensive ones are overkill.

Best deal per foot on bags I’ve found is these. Handy roll in a box with a build in cutter.

If you are running through Houston at any point, I have a FoodSaver Sealer I would give you. I forgot I made off with it in the divorce, and bought the Anova

IMO get one that has a bag roll holder and cutter built in. You can buy pre sized ones but I liked having the option to custom cut and having that on board was nice.
