The Sabres are going to love him.
I mean we loved him too! Dude has unreal talent, just obviously has had his head issues and is replaceable with the blue line we have. EDIT: I think we always looked at him as being Toews if meeting his potential, clearly our window is closing so we need to capitalize now.
My favorite clip of the entire celebration for our Cup the other year was him looking so young that a cop didn’t realize he was a player on the street

Part of my issue with Byram leaving is how well he played in the SCF
He was the legit best defender on the ice for the back half of that series
Although he was solid never reached those heights consistently plus his injury history

Jake Guentzel is such a popular player. Surprised they traded him.

Buffalo scores against Oilers to win with 2 seconds in OT. Teams go to locker room, start getting out of uniform. The refs reviewed, called offsides at 20 seconds left, no goal. So after game they call everyone back to ice but have to wait for uniforms and gear to be put back on. One of wildest things Ive ever seen.
In shootout now.
ETA: Buffalo wins "again"

He was asking for more than what the Pens were willing to pay him.

McDavid already scored. 68 seconds in.

Penguins know they have to rebuild soon. And they weren't going to sign him to a huge deal. They didn't get much of a return though.
Wild pull their goalie in OT for a dramatic win. When was the last time any coach did that?

Stars were the better squad this evening but allowing 3 PP goals isn't going to result in many Ws

Stars blew a 3 goal lead in the third period lol
Avalanche just scored 4 unanswered goals in the second period
The central division race is going to be insane down the stretch

Kraken and Knights tied at 1 late in the second period

Kraken blew a 2 goal lead in the 3rd with 16 seconds left in the game. The Knights win it in overtime 5-4. Total nutpunch game for the Kraken.
Now that the Kraken’s playoff hopes have pretty much been given the death blow, I’ll give a quick post-mortem on their season: their talent level is below average in a conference loaded with high-power teams. Last season was a fluke. I love that team, but until the roster turns over a good bit, there will be more seasons like this one than last year.

I joined the VGK - Kraken game just as the third period started. I was thinking that the Knights had given another one away when Marchy struck late. Kudos to Alex Pietranglo for a massive play in the OT. He got a late stick in to deflect a golden opportunity on Seattle's last rush, then fired a perfect lob pass to spring Eichel for the winner.
