The truth about "REAL ID"

Does anyone know what they aren't telling us about real ID? What is the point of it. We have been having ids for a while now and I don't understand the purpose of the real ID. Seems fishy to me.

IDs are issued by states, besides a passport. Each state has different requirements. A real ID simply makes all the requirements the same.

I will say this - I got real Id about 3 years ago at license renewal and I have had jury duty summons about every year since then - fed and 19th jdc - it’s ridiculous- they def update their roles with real id

An official copy of your state-issued birth certificate isn't good enough. But if you add a water bill with your name on it to that, well then, you are authenticated.

Real ID itself is totally unnecessary but fairly innocuous by itself. But slippery slopes are slippery. Eventually it'll be added to or folded into a national digital id. Or international, WEF style.
Even without shitbags like the WEF or WHO pushing them, bureaucracies are never happy, they always want more. Keeps them growing and funded.

Like the other poster said how does a water bill/electric bill make your state id any more valid.
More rules for the law abiding among us.
