Anyone experience it and did you do anything special? How long to get over it?

Hoka shoes with high arch insoles and Oofos flip flops helped me out Big time.

You have two choices: strengthen your feet or support your feet.
I recommend getting some barefoot shoes and exercising your feet. The two things that worked best for me was jumping rope and a weighted sled (backwards and forwards). Lifting in the gym barefoot or with barefoot footwear will help.

Fill a Gatorade or coke bottle or whatever about 3/4 with water. Let it freeze overnight
When you get home after work, lay a towel down and go back and forth with the cold bottle under your feet

strengthen your feet
This is the route I took, had to do stretches and started calf raises again.

Sounds crazy, but untuck the sheets at the end of your bed so your foot is not in a flexed position all night. That helped me a great deal.

Insoles are def worth investing in.

Zero drop shoes, like Altra. Stretches the calf and achilles as you walk.

Good shoes
Jump rope. start with sets of 25 or 50 whatever you can. I would do 250 a day then worked up to 500. It does not take long but it works.
Wear boots to work and when you go anywhere.
Cured mine this way twice and I am old 55+. I got it both times trying to do strenuous cardio in trash shoes. I cannot do Insanity workouts in 50 buck under armour shoes. Now I have running shoes that I run in and court shoes that i do HIIT in. Rolling my foot on a tennis ball or frozen water did nothing at all for me.

I got mine to go away after about 3 months. Strength and angled foot walking exercises, stretching. Massage/rolling. Just saying even if you start to fix it, it takes time.

Grit your teeth, prepare for painful experience, and get a corticosteroid shot in the bottom of your foot. That makes the inflammation go away. Get orthotic inserts for your shoes. Wear arch supporting sandals when you’re not wearing your shoes with orthotics in them. And, don’t walk around barefoot. That will hopefully prevent a recurrence.

I had it pretty bad. I chose support first with better shoes but that really didn't help. Next I went the strengthening route. Much better. I walk barefoot as much as possible now. Would recommend some barefoot shoes as well.

Took me about 3 months to get over

I rolled my foot on a tennis ball and a frozen water bottle, I got over pretty quick. My wife had to have surgery.

What type of shoes for court/high intensity?
Posted on 9/16/23 at 4:52 pm to 1609tiger
I've heard people staying off their feet from 2 weeks to 2 months. It's all relative.
Stay off your feet more often.
Ice from legs down. Do ice baths if you have the opportunity.
Stretch offen. Use a lacrosse ball to massage out your feet.
Look into getting high support shoes.
Check your gait.
Highly recommend going to your local running shoe store and have a gait analysis and see about shoe recommendations. Any pair over $120 will be good, but some shoes may not be built for you.

Heel spur or something else? I actually went to a podiatrist just to make sure I didn't have a fracture or something (my sister and a coworker both had a broken foot bone for months because they didn't get it checked soon, so that was in my head), and she mentioned heel spurs and how they used to grind them down but now they know it doesn't really help to remove them.
