Asking for the starting QB to be benched has got to be the ultimate “I’m ignorant” take

For someone on a message board to honestly believe they know better than all the coaches because they’ve seen a practice and watched some highlight reels is just mind blowing to me.
Anytime our starting QB makes a mistake immediately people want the back up, I wish I had saved receipts from 2018 for people who wanted Burrow benched, they existed…
There is a possibility that, and hear me out on this, the coaches know better than you posting on a message board who watched a little tape and followed the backup QBs recruitment in high school. There could possibly be the scenario where our starter is not the best quarterback in the NCAA but is the best quarterback on our team.
I know it’s fun to complain anytime our quarterback isn’t perfect and demand his back up gets a shot, but maybe, just maybe, there’s a reason he’s the starter

Guess i’m ignorant then. Nuss should be the qb, McDaniels has reached his potential

Our qb doesn’t throw over 10 yards and when he does it’s always 5 yards short
BTJ should’ve caught the ball but a good throw and he’s catching that in stride in the Endzone

It’s odd how LSU fans highlight every play by JD that isn’t perfect but completely ignore the fact that Nuss has a terrible habit of throwing bad interceptions.
Was JD great last night? No, but damn he was not even close to why we lost.
And to think Nuss would have made it any better is delusion.

Wow! The ignorance of our fans to blindly follow a coach is mind numbing

Call me ignorant. Daniels is a 5th year starter. He is the same he has always been yet BK appears to think he will get a different result this time around. I said that we would learn a lot about BK from this game. He is making a mistake by keeping 5 as QB. If Nuss is no better then shame on BK for not getting a better QB. Start the third guy if needed, but this team has at least 4 more losses with 5 as QB.

Most people watched the whole game. Daniels is a limited QB that limits the offense and his tendency to play hero ball takes everyone else out of the game. He's not a team player.

People are basing their views of Daniels on his 4+ years of being a starter. You WRONGLY believe these opinions are based on 1 or 2 mistakes. Most of us watched him play like this all of last season.

That was Burrows FIRST season as a starter.
Daniels is in is FIFTH season as a starter. Massive difference. Daniels has had 44 starts compared to Burrows 38 starts.

See this post should be framed, it’s the perfect response to prove my point

This didn’t just start. LSU has lost 3 out of the last 4 games. Try something new, go to a pro-style QB. Why not try it. Heck, play them both.

Nuss looks like the QB I want in the pocket throwing downfeild...
I like JD...but his style obviously makes us move the ball at times a bit sloppy...which looks lucky...by escaping
we have no running game, which sucks big time
we no longer have the Fournette or Guice type back...
what the hell happened to LSU?
the CFB game has changed... RBs aren't valued anymore...it's all throwing the ball
well Nuss does that better than JD... but JD runs better...
I just feel we're not going to make defenses back up unless we get Nuss in there

Maybe the guy performs better in practice than he does in games? He’s an option quarterback who often chooses the wrong option.

This doesn’t work because we’ve seen them both play in the same game for the same amount of time against better competition than FSU.
Nussmeier isn’t exactly an unknown.

Maybe if Nuss had FIVE seasons of experience he might be allowed to grow beyond that
Why is a guy who's been starting for so long granted so many excuses but the guy who's barely been allowed to play gets NO excuses?

A lot of it is why we lost. He has a run first mentality. There were plays where he had the open receiver and pulled it and ran, when he did try and make the throw down field it was under thrown. He is a ball hog with an all about me mentality. He looks the same as he did last year. No improvement.

Damn you should let the coaches and analysts know about all this data they have available to them, imagine if they had the same kind of access that you have!

Exactly which aspect of the game last night gave you confidence in this coaching staff's decision making?

One will be here next year when we might be better
One will not
It’s not that difficult to understand

Coaches probably understood that with our o line, putting Nuss back there would have been a blood bath.

A QB that gets rid of the ball quickly can mitigate OL issues. The pros know this.

Perhaps fans calling for the backup aren’t saying “Nuss is better”, but instead are saying “I disagree with Kelly’s choice to go with a low risk/low reward player that won’t throw picks but doesn’t maximize the talent of others over a high risk/high reward player that gives others a chance to make plays even at the expense of a turnover here and there.”
I’ve no doubt JD is the right answer for the question Kelly seems to currently be asking (“who will protect the ball better”) but fans might think that given our limitations on defense and at running back, a better question might be “who can win in the pass-heavy shootouts we are going to find ourselves in?”
