If only he had coaches and teachers telling him since junior high that academics are important and you can't play football if you don't get your class work done.

Bottom line

Bottom line is that the NFL takes notice of guys that are untrustworthy. Running backs are a dime a dozen to NFL franchises. I hope Emery is taking good care of his NIL money he's getting from LSU.

X Carter says hi

Also, not his fault, but Russell Shepard was prob the most disappointing mostly by the way he wasn’t utilized correctly.

Was he a 5* RB?? Yeah, i didn't think so.

He was a 5*, Top TE in the country and Top 5 or 10 (depending on the site) player in the country

Why is this a discussion? Emery's issues have nothing to do with his talent. He is, by all accounts, still VERY talented. Having academic issues doesn't change that and none of the rankings include an off-field rating.

The stars are about football talent, not academic ability.

Still a 5 star talent. I don't think people here understand recruiting ratings at all.

Clifton Garrett does exist…

Might be the only legit case in here. No academic issues but simply not nearly as good.

What did people say about Al Woods? 5 star talent? He's been in the NFL for 13 years now.

Clifton Garrett

He was a Chavis recruit. I was so ecstatic when he committed, thought he’d be the next great linebacker here.

Trouble was he had trouble acclimating to our humidity… and he was slow as shite.

Well LazloHollyfeld.... i asked about one person and one position. If you can't follow that then maybe you've been helping Emery with his academics.

Emery has not performed on the field like a five star talent. His body of work is inconsistent and doesn't qualify for five star status. Many here credit him too much for a handful of productive plays in four years.
He had a 32 yard run against Alabama last year and little else. In the games where he has played (b/c he's out a lot due to injuries and suspensions) he has averaged 31 yards per game. And, he fumbles and has been unreliable in pass protection.
