Sad, because it used to be a pretty prosperous town.

Not for the crime or the poverty (although there's plenty of poverty in the workers camps), but for a variety of reasons I'll go with Kuwait City. Just miserable to me. Hot as hell, no booze, entitled assholes everywhere, and the nicest parts of the city have all the charm of a mall food court. And no booze is worth a second mention.

West Union, West Virginia....

Worked on rigs in the area and bunked in the "Hotel"...

A lot of "Deliverance" going on there...

Amarillo, TX was pretty terrible.

Montgomery, AL definitely has some issues.

This is the correct answer. The only reason that someone would answer differently is because they have never been there.

Was on the Silk Road to Kashgar 20 years ago and stopped there then got the hell out. Both Muslims and Asians were not happy with my western arse. It supposedly is the most isolated inland city in the world and it felt like it.

Ever, ever has to be Hyderabad, India. Probably most of India is tied with it, but it's the only place in India I've been. Besides people urinating on the sidewalk and defecating off to the side, the huge lake next to the Mariott with the stream coming off it smelled like a sewage plant with pea green water. Collision of Hindu and Muslim cultures with a sprinkling of Christianity and walking as a whitey Westerner thru the markets was not exactly anxiety-free.

Small town of Waverly, Tennessee. It was in the dead winter, gloomy and everyone knew I was a stranger.

Cordial but you just had that "feeling."

I was in San Fran a couple years ago and witnessed a homeless guy trying to smoke a blunt with his a-hole. That's an image I will never forget lol.
Sound like an effective way to keep the blunt to yourself.

sihanoukville, cambodia ... the Chinese are turning it into the next Macao. A dusty city of chaos and construction.
