Going with a top loader after years with a front loading Bosch unit.

Speed Queen, Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Samsung, LG, Kenmore?

Currently Speed Queen is the leader in the clubhouse, but it's very small with a 3.2 cubic feet tub, while the others go up to 5.3.

Anything but Samsung.

If you're trying to budget, LG is good right now. H&G obsesses about Speed Queen and while rightfully so, you can buy whatever makes you happy. It doesn't hurt to go bigger than what you need for washing machines. I've delt with a compact Maytag washer and it was the bane of my existence, even for a Maytag.

Whirlpool, Kenmore, Bosch are all still reputable brands.

We went from a bigger front load washing machine to a speed queen TC5 and can literally wash clothes in half the time. Take that for what its worth.

We have a Maytag set with electric dryer and the only complaint is the lint trap on the dryer. The water has been great, however the agitator bolt seems to need some tightening.

Have a Maytag set I got around 5 years ago. No issues other than the door sensor kept tripping on the washing machine. Part was $30 on amazon and I changed in 15 mins.

Happy with them so far, but the real test is the next 5 years.

The best person to ask on this subject by far, in BTR, is Kathy at Stanton’s Appliance. Make an appointment, sit down and talk with her. I was there yesterday. She sells the top brands, will explain pluses and minuses of every unit.

Speed queen TC5 here. It has been great. Have a family of 5 and haven’t noticed the smaller tub size being an issue.

We got rid of our front washer and went with Maytag that has the old school knobs for your selection choices and have never looked back

Get the TC5 Speed Queen. Family of four. My wife and kids look at clothes, and automatically think they're dirty after their gaze. It's mind boggling how many clothes they go through.

We've had it for about five years now. Has been flawless. It's a workhorse and isn't a pinko commie washing machine. It will full the tub full of water, has a great agitator, and you can lift the lid without it stopping. There's a little flipper thing in the back that you just have to put a clothes pin on to stop if from shutting off when lifting the lid....takes about a minute to do.

We had a front-loading Bosch and gave it to the church after 2 years of running each load at least twice to clean the clothes. Bought a speed queen and will never own anything else. You are about to be re-introduced to clean clothes.

Front loading washing machines are trash.

Went with most basic speed queen. They all the same size and less stuff to tear up.
