Headed to NYC over Labor Day, for the primary reason of seeing Springsteen.

Looking for some restaurants to reserve for the trip.

We're staying in the greater MSG/Hell's Kitchen area.

We've been to New York plenty of times, our last trip was 2019. (But just a day layover before flying to Paris, so not much restauranting.)

The time before that we went to Little Owl and Market Table (that I remember).

Our itinerary is:

Lunch on Friday before taking the train to the Meadowlands
Lunch and Dinner on Saturday (no real PLAN for Saturday, may just take the kid to see the sights)
Brunch/Lunch on Sunday - going to the US Open before flying out of LGA on Sunday night

My only limitation on restaurants is that I don't want to have to change out of my regular walking around clothes.

Hangawi

Super cool vibe for couples, go in the evening when the lights are dim and candles are everywhere, you sit on the floor on these fluffy pillows, you have to take your shoes off whenever you first come inside ….awesome food as well

This is what it looks like during the day, at night time it is very dim in a cool, romantic spot to bring your lady

Red Farm for dinner. Two locations in NYC, one on the Upper West Side and one in West Village. Mrs. H2O and I go every time we're in town and the crab and soup dumplings are a must.

Also, if you're staying in Hell's Kitchen and want a cool cocktail bar, try and get reservations at The Woo Woo.

Make fun of me all you want, but the best meal I had in my last few trips was at the Restoration Hardware restaurant.

In your hotel area, I always dig Her Name is Han.

On your way to LGA, Truva Cafe turkish restaurant about ten minutes by cab this side of LGA.

We like Baekjeong NYC in Koreatown for lunch. But there's a bunch of Korean BBQ joints that are good. Of course, NY Pizza Suprema by MSG is our goto pizza spot. I'm going to Metlife tomorrow for Guns N' Roses.

Barbuto in the West Village. Great little Italian spot. It's on Horatio at 11th, so you can see the Hudson from inside. It's a block from the entrance to the High Line, so you can take a nice walk after lunch/dinner.

Am I alone in thinking NYC isn’t that great of a restaurant town. It certainly has a large selection and tons of diversity, but not much stands out as amazing to me. I’ve been to 30-40 places that would qualify as being highly recommended and most of them were Ok but not great.
I seriously think Providence, RI and New Orleans is better.

Hells kitchen has the most restaurants per capita in the country.
Is fun to walk around the area and try places.

The food at Juniors is average (their onion rings are ridiculously large) but where it shines is cheesecake. Go by there just for that.
