I was cleaning my back patio yesterday and now my gfci outlet tripped and won't reset. I am sure it must have gotten wet. Should I simply replace it? Will it dry out and start working again? Thanks.

Replace it.
Unless somehow you think it's still wet a day later

If there is no power supply to the outlet your GFCI will not reset. Check the breaker box to make sure the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Try resetting the outlet. If it still doesn't reset moisture in the wiring or outlet may be the problem.

Will it dry out and start working again? Maybe

I'm certain you did, but just in case you didn't...did you check the actual breaker it's on? GFCI outlets wont reset without power to them.

I had that exact problem a few weeks ago when I pressure washed my front porch. When I changed it out, I noticed the contractor used an indoor GFCI outlet on my front porch. Switched it to an outdoor one and no problems since.

Remove the cover and let it air out first.

Had the same issue....was humidity build up in an outdoor bathroom.

Went and bought a replacement, but was able to reset before having to change out. I guess it dried out in time.

Mine trips when I wash the front door area. My trick is to get the blower and blow it for a min or 2 and then it will reset. Might work for you.

forget code, switch it out to a regular outlet.
last thing you want to do is be using an electric smoker and the GFCI trips mid cook. lol
