With his 6th strikeout of the night, Yu Darvish brought his career total to 1,919.
That moved him past Hideo Nomo for the most strikeouts by a Japanese-born pitcher in MLB history.

Max Scherzer tonight recorded his 6th career game with 10+ strikeouts and 1 or 0 hits allowed.
That's tied for the 4th-most by any pitcher since the mound was set at its current distance in 1893.
Only Nolan Ryan (19), Randy Johnson (10), and Justin Verlander (8) have more.

Félix Hernández throws the first and only perfect game in @Mariners history.
It was the most recent perfect game across all of MLB until Domingo Germán threw his this year.

Even my 7 year old arse could spot greatness the first time I saw Nolan pitch. I’d never even seen a baseball game before that. Instantly became my favorite athlete.
The ball just sounded different when he threw it.

It's as if Scherzer left NY and became 5 years younger.

Wow. That really sucks for McClanahan. Tampa Bay's future looks a whole lot dimmer than it did three days ago.

I thought Pujols was just an analyst for MLB Network and Apple TV? Now he's on TBS too.

Ohtani getting teabagged by Seager
Posted on 8/15/23 at 9:18 pm to McCaigBro69
Seager would be in contention for MVP without his early-season injury, and he still may.

He deserves it, but Ohtani just needs to be alive until the end of the year to win it. I may also have a futures bet on Seager as well

not really sure what being in contention for AL MVP even means this year
like sure, he can be in contention for 2nd i guess

Just sayin’… true to the spirit of the award, his play has directly carried his team to elevated performance.
Ohtani is a beast, but the Angels aren’t reaping that benefit.
