how good is seagers pitching?

How good is Ohtani at poker?
Posted on 8/15/23 at 11:40 pm to Honest Tune
would assume better than seager is at pitching
Posted on 8/15/23 at 11:41 pm to WestCoastAg
I would assume Seager would make a fine pitcher. He’s a shortstop, they usually can take the bump.

get back to me when he does

Get back to me when Ohtani takes another meaningful ab this year.
He peaked in the first half. Seager appears poised to have plenty of chances to sway votes late.
Like I said in my original post…”be in consideration”…

he doesn’t play for a club that needs him to pitch to keep sports center happy

I see Flaherty still more of the same, 5 earned in the first against the Padres, 7 earned in 3.
Can't move to bullpen because he's so bad in the first, can't start him in a playoff game because it's 50/50 the game is over in the first.

Jack Flaherty threw 73 pitches in the first 2 innings tonight. It's the second-most pitches thrown in the first 2 frames by any MLB pitcher this year (Dylan Cease threw 79 on August 2).

If Ohtani didn't play another game the rest of the season he would probably still win AL MVP. Seager is having a great year, but he only has slightly better odds than Wander Franco.

Let's talk Max.
Max Scherzer is amazing and living up to the hype that surrounded his trade from the Mets. He has 7 IP in each of his first three wins in his first three starts for the Rangers.
Scherzer pitched a beautiful and masterful game on Monday night, allowing one hit with a season-high 11 strikeouts over seven scoreless innings in the Rangers’ 12-0 rout of the Angels. This gives him his 4th 11 K's game with 1 or 0 hits, putting him in 4th place in baseball history behind only Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson and Justin Verlander. In his three wins in his first three starts with the Ranger, he's allowed only 1 run in his last 19 innings.
Scherzer joined Justin Verlander (2017, Houston), Randy Johnson (1998, Houston) and Jim Bunning (1964, Philadelphia) as the only pitchers in the Modern Era to win each of their first three starts with a new franchise while throwing 20-plus innings, allowing four or fewer runs and striking out at least 26.
Now, if only the Rangers had a healthy Jacob deGrom. Rangers general manager Chris Young has made some great hires and bringing in Bruce Bochy was a great shot in the arm for this franchise
Young should win MLB Executive of The Year for 2023. He deserves it

Yeah I love Seager but Ohtani is going to run away with it, deservedly so.

Dominican Republic prosecutor says division specializing in minors and gender violence leading Wander Franco investigation
quote:
A prosecutor in the Dominican Republic says an investigation into Tampa Bay Rays All-Star shortstop Wander Franco is being handled by a division specializing in minors and gender violence in the province of Peravia.
Ángel Darío Tejeda Fabal, a prosecutor in Peravia, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the investigation into Franco is open under the National Agency for Boys, Girls, Adolescents and Family and Gender Violence Unit. He said the probe is in its early stages and will be chaired by Chief Prosecutor Olga Diná Llaverías, a specialist in child abuse cases.
"This is a very delicate topic because there is a minor involved," Fabal said. "We are working together [with Llaverías]."
Fabal said prosecutors are gathering evidence and testimonies but did not provide details.
"Next week, we might be able to give some of the necessary information without hurting the investigation," he said.

Yep…it might be one of those nights.
On the bright side, the Yankees officially have a losing record.
