Love the few chances we have left to hear real meaningful in the moment lyrics before it’s all engineered noise
Doom and gloom. Another one of those “new music isn’t good” types. There’s plenty of good music being put out right now. And no I’m not referring to Nashville machine music. Talking Turnpike Isbell Zach Bryan etc

I do find it funny that he's attempting to paint a picture of working class solidarity against the elites and politicians, and then turns and pulls out the old "welfare queen" trope. Also that dude has huge tits, he shouldn't be calling anyone fat.

It can be astroturfed, artificial, or whatever else and also still have a good (albeit at times poorly delivered) message that other songs aren't talking about right now.

end up complaining about food stamps.

I have always been "anti-conspiracy". All my adult life. Which is a lot of years
But now, I just dont believe anything is real. The cooked world has finally got me.
I have no idea what to believe any more so I just dont believe anything. Nothing would surprise me about anything

So it was a coordinated effort by multiple people and they still couldn’t come up with something better than the “Fudge Rounds” line?

Yes, that is the extent of their "artistry," apparently.

What do welfare queens have to do with the rich men?
Has anyone researched whether welfare might be taxpayer-funded vote-buying scheme for politicians to maintain their powers using our money?

The Little Debbie company saw a need to prop up lagging sales of their Fudge Round product line so they paid the New York based writer $250K to work “Fudge Rounds” into the lyrics as part of the massive astroturfing campaign centered around the song.

I love the phenomenon this song has become.
