That’s bold to say that you would take 300k over 500k. You’ll never be in that position and neither will I so who knows

You honestly think one of the coaches said he is all Texas? Come on be real, crap like this goes both ways. They throw s$&t on the wall and hope it sticks.

These clowns should have a rule you have to have your pick in a month out. That way you can see who really knows what the hell they are talking about. How honorable is it to change your pick day before commitment? Guess as long as we keep clicking…
The problem with that is that the back and forth can go down to the day the kid picks. Pretty good source said he is asking for 600K per year last week. LSU had put a package together to meet that but TX upped the number. At some point its diminished return. I felt really good about him being a Tiger until Monday. Texas has decided that they aren't letting him leave the state no matter the cost.

Your job isn’t to cover recruiting, thus nobody is going to hold you to the same standard.
If you have info, share it.

I didn't see it. It came from someone who would know.

True, But we aren’t who we think we are. Kelly says he wants to be on the level of UGA & Bama consistently…well these are the battles you have to win. It’s as simple as that. Ahmad Breaux & De’myrion Johnson ain’t gone cut it with all due respect.
That's what I'm saying. For all the good PR we get, if multiple sports winning natty's, having some of the highest NIL earners in all of coed sports, and winning the West the 1st year with a depleted roster isn't enough it'll never be enough. When we lose recruiting battles to alabama the tune is always, "it won't change until we beat them". Similar to the post 2019 win, they continue to smoke us in recruiting lol. The other football juggernauts seems to always accomplish less to get more and thats still the tune even if we get Simmons

We don’t have to recruit to the exact same level as Alabama and UGA, in fact, we can’t. Nobody can. Saban is the best recruiter the game has ever seen and Smart is rapidly climbing that list. That’s not an indictment on LSU or Kelly, just like it isn’t on Ryan Day, Jim Harbaugh, Lincoln Riley, etc
What we do have to do is recruit at a high enough level to meet the minimum talent threshold necessary to compete for titles. That’s top 5 or top 8 classes, I don’t know. We did that in 2023 and have the opportunity to do it in 2024, but we need to make some moves.

I havent heard actual numbers but thats basically what people have said around my club. Its just NFL free agency at this point.

I told this board months ago that NIL would decide Simmons' recruitment
The word on the internet says his family wants him to stay home. I can understand that but this is the kids moment. I never understand why kids parents can’t can’t see the difference between LSU and Texas to get him ready for his future in the NFL. Best of luck to him if he goes to Texas. He will be tiger bait. This was the same scenario with Jordan Burch. I just saw he transferred to Oregon

Texas got Simmons when they joined the SEC. Texas mod basically said it himself. Had Texas stayed in the Big12, LSU would’ve had the kid locked up.

Kid is such a troll. He’s going to Texas.

I feel like lsu is used as a bargaining chip for these shemar stewart Jordan burch type recruits. Not surprised

Everybody said you cant recruit like Saban for years until Kirby came along with multiple #1 classes BEFORE winning a title. Then you have Jimbo at A$M bringing in a #1 class. I’m sick of the excuses. LSU already has a leg up on all of these teams because of no in state competition. I’m tired of the “as long as we are top 10” crowd. LSU brand is gigantic. No excuses for anything less than a top 5 class every year.

So, Jordy and Scarborough vs Embody’s word…. Hmmm
Posted on 8/9/23 at 9:49 am to DhanTigers212
This makes Dominick McKinley an even bigger priority. If Texas refuses to let Simmons leave the state as some are reporting, our mission has to be the same with McKinley. Losing those two and Mack in head to head battles is unacceptable. Especially with how bad Texas has been the last 15 years.
