The stench of the LSU Lakes "improvement" by mattz1122

I wonder if they’re finding any bodies while dredging

“Pardon our progress, we are renovating”

On a serious note, I think the water temperature and drought played a large role in the fish kill 2 weeks ago. and the dredging will help create deeper, cooler Pockets for fish habitat. Sorry the smell bothers you . That’s organic matter decomposing. The smell is hydrogen sulfide.

The lakes have often smelled pretty bad at times for a very long time. Especially late summer.

The money from Huey’s deduct box is buried in the lake.

Looks like they are dredging channels for barge use. Lots of big timber in the lakes.

Only time the lakes haven't stunk is deep winter when everything's dead

Rowed for LSU and in late summer the smaller fish would jump from the water to the boat into my shoes. If I didn't check them before putting them on they'd become fish paste

Still doesn't compare to the smell of all the algae and plant life dying after the first freeze

The LSU Lakes are a depository of unsolved crimes. I'm sure a few bodies will turn up.
