I liked WW and wish LSU would’ve kept him, but I’ll never understand the cult of personality behind him.

No disrespect intended, but Will Wade had the best start of any LSU basketball coach ever. He took over for two failures before him and Coach Brady before them who was up and down, mostly down, but had a final four. LSU went to the postseason 4 times under him. It would have been all five seasons if not for COVID, and he went to three straight NCAA tournaments (would have been 4 if not for COVID). That's why people support him, liked him, and did not want to see him fired. Hopefully that helps.

If you’re going to be so stupid you need to offset it by being respectable in actual coaching, particularly in March. Unfortunately he was outclassed on both fronts

He will be the next Calipari, book it. Not the best x s and o s but knows how to recruit talent and build a program. He will likely make a few Final 4s on the rosters he builds alone and that’s what he was set to do at LSU.
