Ben Wilkerson would be on my list. A four-year starter for the Tigers.

I absolutely remember Ronnie Estay. A great defensive lineman at LSU who went on to play football in Canada for quite a few years.
I was on my recruiting visit to LSU for the 1971 game against Notre Dame, and got to meet him. Really nice guy, as were Tommy Casanova, Norm Hodgins, Mike Miley, Bert Jones and others. I was leery of Art Cantrelle just because of his reputation. But he was friendly enough. Brad Davis was my host, so I roomed with him for the weekend, which is what recruits did then. Great guy.
Wonderful visit and an incredible game. To this day, I still stay in touch with some of them.

Having Michael Brooks at 33 is criminal
Totally agree.....he should be top 10 as should Dalton Hilliard.

5 pages and no mention of Mike Anderson

Unfortunately he’s not the best of all time. To have Ron Sancho and not Warren Capone or Mike Anderson puts the credibility of this all time list in jeopardy.

Michael Brooks is top 10. Ron Sancho was good but is not top 50.

Not one mention of Booger McFarland

Also, there were many great tigers who played in the shadow of even greater players as well as great players who played on less talented teams. Kevin Faulk and Eddie Kinnison (I don’t remember how he spells his name)

Gotta also consider Booger McFarland. He was dominating annd made All American albeit on sorry bad teams.

I wouldn't say Brooks was better than White or vice versa.
They were different player, but both were the best linebacker in the country. White was more sideline to sideline making plays, Brooks was more like Lawrence Taylor.
Most LSU fans are more familiar with Eric Hill, who was great alongside Brooks, but pre knee injury, Brooks was the player that other teams feared.

Unless you saw Ya Ya play, both offense and defense, at LSU as I did, you might want to re-think your opinion.

Obviously I didn't see him play. I'm simply saying the guy wasn't considered one of the best QB's in the country any year he played college but we're saying he's the 8th best player in school history?
Bert Jones was a consensus AA and finished 4th in the Heisman but is way lower. That makes no sense to me. I still think he gets bumped on this list more because of his pro accomplishments.

Just make a top 50 or a top 100.
