Anheuser-Busch is set to lay off nearly 400 workers at its corporate offices in the wake of slumping sales that accelerated on April 1, when Bud Light partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney

The layoffs won’t impact front-line workers such as brewery and warehouse staff, the company told The Journal.

The restructuring, the outlet reported, will eliminate corporate and marketing roles at major US offices, including in St. Louis, New York, and Los Angeles.

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth added in the written statement: “While we never take these decisions lightly, we want to ensure that our organization continues to be set for future long-term success.”

“These corporate structure changes will enable our teams to focus on what we do best — brewing great beer for everyone,” the embattled chief executive added, who’s been notoriously tight-lipped since Mulvaney’s posts outraged Bud Light’s consumer base

I’m sure most of the people being laid off have nothing to do with what the senior leadership did to cause the boycott.

This is tragic, IMO but ultimately the fault of the companies leadership and the lack of accountability from the board and shareholders to drive change.

Every corporation should gut their DEI divisions that have caused bureaucratic bloat across all sectors.

I was assured that former BL drinkers were still consuming AB products and the "boycott" didn't matter.

Yep. Some in leadership need to be let go. They failed their employees.

Yeah but the OT is happy, so that is all that matters.

If you work for a big company you are a pawn up to about Managing Director level.

If you don't want to be a pawn start your own business.

I was one because I am not entrepreneurial.

Y’all are celebrating 400 Americans losing their jobs, most of which likely had absolutely nothing to do with Bud Light’s stance.

The earnings they are getting ready to release must be a disaster.
