I like how everyone hates the big green eggs and Kamado Joe’s now since they’re such a PITA to use. My father in law just got rid of one too, switched out for a traeger

Please, please explain. Can’t wait to hear this.
There is no grill easier to use than a BGE. It’s self cleaning and holds a temp without the need for electronics. Your pellet grills needs cleaning and a computer to function. Now you tell me what’s more complicated?

I feel like there’s a trade off with longevity and flavor. Most of the bbq I’ve tried that was cooked on a pellet grill has been good but not as good as what comes off a kamado or offset smoker. Steaks, burgers and other cuts that are typically direct grilled are way better on a kamado.

How are they a PTA to use? It's pretty simple set and forget.
I only have a KJ, and use it weekly and have been doing so for nearly 10 years now. The only "PITA" things would be cleaning the ash from the grill, but that's what a shop vac is for. I start my coals with a looflighter as well, so startup isn't a PITA either.
I can cook anything on that grill. Briskett, pork shoulder, pizza, steak fajitas, beef jerky. It's an outdoor oven.
