Bought a lot a few years ago. Finally read to build. Any recs for builders in the area? Looking for something semi luxurious.

Following this. In Lakeview here, we own our lot outright.
What is your anticipated price/sqft? Is building quality in the 170-180/ft range possible?

Live in Lakeview. Building in Bucktown right now. From what I’ve seen 170-180 not possible.
Two good builders:
ferran-hardie homes
Cypress creations.

Ferran-Hardie homes.
If you want a builder who serves the best interests of the client, then this is the one. Builders nowadays are so short sighted they focus on making the most profit and cut corners to do so, instead of establishing a reputation.
They are known to have a network of repeat customers, and I know some of them. That speaks volumes.

Hyman Bartolo is a really good company off the expressway on the westbank.

I would avoid Troyer. Too slow and too much going on for you to get much attention.
Recs in no order:
Precision
DiGiovanni
Hotard
I think that 220 to 250 is about right for under beam sq ft. That won't be landscaping, drainage, flatwork, pool or highest end finishes/products.

Cypress Creations is good as well but smaller. You will get more attention but might need to wait longer to start.

MLM Construction. They do commercial but their contractor also does great residential construction. I have seen several of his homes and was very impressed.

Jorge is who does all my building.
I dont have a number for him, but you can find him sitting on a curb behind the Burger King in Kenner.

quote:God damn I didn’t realize building prices have increased that much in the area. On top of increased homeowners and property taxes (but I guess anyone paying >$220/sq ft will be able to afford that).
