Can you remember Coach Saban's record the last year he was here with a Sr. QB at LSU? Look LSU is down to their 4th string QB in Jefferson. If Perrilloux would have not screwed up and if he was still on the team LSU would be making another run for the BCS National Championship again. So I think we have to give Coach Miles a pass for this year because of our QBs, Hatch did not have any major playing time and Lee and Jefferson had none.

So LSU Fans just remember what the Mighty Coach Nick Saban's record was his last year here with a Sr. QB., look he even had Russell and Flynn as red shirt Freshmen QBs.

Next year LSU will be going after winning the West in the SEC and going to play the winner of the East for the SEC Championship. Then go on to play in the BCS Championship Game. If LSU could beat the winner of the East.

LSU has a lot of talent that Coach Miles has recruited. LSU could have the best recruiting class this recruiting year. Even better than the Mighty Nick Saban had recruited here while he was here at LSU.

Lets see how the Mighty Nick Saban does next year with an unproven QB. You can't replace a 5th year Sr. QB.

Perilloux would fix the defense too?

I remember one blowout loss that year, with one razor thin game against one of the top teams in the country, and a fluke loss against Iowa.

We have 3 blowout losses, a close loss, the season isn't over yet, and the team to all appearances has imploded.

But yeah, the two scenarios are JUST alike.

Rationalizations like these is why I despise records comparisons.

Disin Saban does not make me feel any better, its kinda like saying we should tax the rich, it does nothing. Les has definately done a job, likely unmatched, in recruiting. But he can also be a little too stubborn from time to time. Some of that it needed, but some is not. I think he can right the ship, but I'm not overly confident in that.

Sorry HolmesSlice....Perrilloux has nothing to do with the WORST defense in the SEC. Nothing.

Dont give me this "they would be off the field more, we spotted them points w/ our current QB" BULLSCHIDT either.

I normally would agree, but the 4th string QB isn't putting up a min of 38 points on our D which in my opinion has been the problem this season. I think we could have had a better season even with the QB situation if the D would have stepped up and at least pretended to cover.

It's going to get worse before it gets better in the form of another embarrassing defeat to Arkansas followed up by a butt whipping by whomever we play in a lower tier bowl. We will finish this awful season at 7-6 and being next years in the same way unless something is done in the off season.

I can see giving a pass to the offense, who other than Scott the last few games, has not been completely terrible. But to have team after team just start the game marching up and down the field at will and while LSU defense just slaps them on the butt as they go by is something that really needs to change. Les needs to stop being so passive and reach down and grab his gonads, realize they're there and DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!

Well, at least you know how the SEC works.

However, you are extremely naive. Fans are screaming "the sky is falling" b/c the sky is falling.

What facts do you have to base your statements on? Do you realize that we have one of, if not THE, the worst defense in the SEC? How would Perrilloux have fixed that? I agree the D plays better when the O plays better...but that's not how SEC or BCS championships are won. The wheels have come off...we are the laughing stock of the SEC...we have fallen farther than any championship team has fallen...and we have won two BCSNC in 5 years.

You can be happy about the situation...that's fine. Don't blame "true" LSU fans for being passionate that things need to change or we will revisit the 90's, my friend.

Slow, how can you rebuild, when you just won the National Championship the year before?

You have to laugh at people who are dumber than the Alabama Fans.

Because that was an overacheiving year....the foundations weren't fully laid that lead to the 3 years down the road which were the most dominant on CFB teams with just one equal. Just the act of winning a title doesn't make you a dominant program by default. It was bracketed on either side with above average seasons.

Yeah, you do.

I'm not shouting doom & gloom.

However, it's obvious we have coaching problems on defense and a freshman qb on offensive.

If the defensive coaching isn't fixed by next year, it's doom & gloom for LES!!!!!!!!!!

you have to admit that:

is true. 2003 was a break through, with a lot of top guys leaving. You might say that its just the ebb and flow, but we didn't have a big drop off in talent this year since we have arrived.

he's rebuilding the PROGRAM

after 2003 we lost a ton of guys and the PROGRAM didn't have the depth to sustain those losses

miles had a LOT more depth to replace our seniors, and we didn't even lose a junior from last year's team
