It never was about JL, although too many people mistakenly jumped on that bandwagon.
All year our DL has done nothing(again, with the exception of Mr. Alem who should have been starting all year).
Our LB's are lost and don't tackle well. But, we do have 2 new starters so you can understand that some.
Our secondary is in shambles. Our CB's are inexperienced, but don't seem to be improving. Our Safties don't know how to tackle and seem lost on most plays.
Honestly, outside of a few players, it's hard to see much good on this D.
But, the talent is there. So you have to look at coaching. This unit has been poorly coached. How else can you explain that the entire D looks lost this late in the season.

If Miles plans to stay at LSU, he needs to fix the D before next year. If not, he'll end up an afterthought.

I don't totally buy this. Since game one, our players on D seem to be lost. Often times, right before the snap, half the D is looking to the sideline waiting on a call. That's coaching.
Since the 1st game of the year, I saw something wrong with our safties. They always went for the ESPN hit. Problem was, they never wrapped up. This late in the season, I still see the same problem. That's coaching.

Agree. It is interesting to see how some sports writers are willing to criticize while some appear in the tank or on the LSU payroll. Check out Randy Rosetta's article from The Advocate.

What did he say that was not true?

That we have young QBs that were not ready for the SEC?

That the co-dc experiment has not worked?

I think his article was a more intelligent read than the Rant can handle. Miles did not forget how to coach. I think, even without reading the Rant for advice, he knows that there are problems. My guess is that he is already working on changes for next season. But I have as much access to him as the rest of you.
